Yichun Yuanzhou traditional medicine

Variation in herbal origin or assay, extract fingerprint deviation and dosage-form dissolution sit at different levels. Review connects supplier audit, identification and processing, charge, extraction and concentration, granulation or tableting, packaging, stability and batch release to the formula and approval.

Formation and regional foundations

Yuanzhou Pharmaceutical Industrial Park gathers traditional-medicine production, extraction, quality laboratories and research collaboration, with nearby herbs supporting supply. Proximity shortens sample and technical cycles, while herb origin, marketing authorisation holder and actual manufacturer remain separately verified.

The Yuanzhou review retains evidence through herbal identity, testing and processing, charge and extraction, dosage formation, packaging and stability and batch release. Regional resources describe supply context; approval, manufacturing licence and batch records carry medicine capability.

Core geography: The boundary covers evidenced Yuanzhou manufacturing and licensing for herbal quality control, pretreatment and extraction, finished traditional medicines, formula granules and direct pharmaceutical packaging. Chemical drugs, devices, distribution, health foods and group plants outside Yuanzhou are excluded.

Production network from herb receipt to batch release

Six quality and manufacturing nodes

Park collaboration does not alter holder, manufacturer or lot responsibility.

  • Herb identity and supplier — Species, part, origin, harvest, supplier and lot enter receipt records.
  • Identify, test and process — Description, microscopy or chromatography, limits, assay and processing follow lot.
  • Charge, extract and concentrate — Charge, solvent, heat and time, cycles, concentration and yield form intermediate records.
  • Granulate, tablet and dose — Blend, size, moisture, compression or filling map to formula lot.
  • Packaging and stability — Pack lot, seal, storage and stability samples bind to finished lot.
  • Batch test and release — Identity, assay, fingerprint, dissolution or fill and deviation disposition support release.

01 · Return three deviations to their levels

Raw herb, extract and dose need separate conclusions.

Low herbal assay first checks species, part, origin, harvest and storage; extract fingerprint deviation then checks charge, solvent, temperature, time and concentration endpoint.

Finished-dose dissolution also reaches particle size, excipient, moisture, compression and coating. Passing raw herb does not prove a tablet release profile.

Review fixes approval number, formula version, batch, actual manufacturer and retain sample before choosing supplier, extract or dosage evidence.

02 · A herb name must resolve to species and part

One common name may hide another origin.

A purchase herb name is insufficient; receipt records include prescribed species, medicinal part, origin, harvest or processing state and supplier lot.

Description, microscopy, thin-layer or other chromatography is selected by herb, with moisture, ash, contaminants and active or marker assay. Appearance alone cannot carry identity.

Resource surveys explain origin and cultivation, but do not replace incoming-lot tests. Wild or cultivated status and harvest period remain actual-source data.

03 · Processing creates the chargeable state

Passing slices require more than thickness.

Sorting, moistening, cutting, drying or stir-processing has herb-specific requirements, with equipment, load, heat, time and adjunct recorded. Rework does not erase the first deviation.

Samples before and after processing separate raw-material from process change. Each processed-herb lot passes before pooling.

Where formula charge is adjusted by assay or rule, calculation, verification and weighing enter the batch record. Total weight cannot hide a short ingredient.

04 · Extraction lots close a quality balance

High yield alone does not prove active recovery.

Herb charge, solvent and volume, extraction cycles, temperature, time and equipment start the record. Automated data still requires sensor and manual-operation checks.

Concentration uses validated density, solids, volume or another endpoint, with vacuum and material temperature. Heating time alone imports equipment-load variation.

Fingerprint, marker assay and yield are trended together; a deviant lot is not averaged with neighbours. Four thousand tonnes per year is a project design figure, not batch-quality proof.

05 · Dosage manufacture turns extract into a dose

New variables begin after intermediate release.

Drying affects moisture and compactability, milling and screening change size, and blend order governs uniformity. Every step maps to formula version and equipment load.

Granules check size, moisture and fill; tablets add weight, hardness, friability, disintegration or dissolution; oral liquids focus on compounding, filtration, filling and seal. Tests do not transfer across dosage forms.

Deviation review compares equipment, environment, operator, excipient and hold time and checks cross-batch effects. Reblending or recompression requires authorised grounds.

06 · Packaging is not an afterthought

Seal failure can change the shelf life.

Packaging releases by contact layer, specification, supplier and lot, while print matches approval. A bottle, blister or laminate change evaluates protection.

Seal heat, pressure, speed and leak checks enter the pack record; online vision only finds configured defects. Sampling covers startup, reel change and restart.

Stability samples use market-equivalent packs and prescribed conditions and time points. Accelerated results do not freely replace long-term data.

07 · Batch release closes formula and shop records

Passing tests must still close deviations.

Release checks approval, holder, site, formula and process, material and pack lots, key parameters and tests. Contract manufacture states responsibility and record location.

Out-of-specification, out-of-trend and major deviations are separately investigated; root cause and impact precede disposition. Retest cannot select favourable data.

Retains, stability, adverse reactions and complaints return post-release information to quality. A market signal may expand to other lots or suppliers.

08 · Producer samples keep holder and plant distinct

Co-location does not share approvals.

Jemincare, Baishen and Health Pharmaceutical illustrate herbal extraction, formula granules and finished traditional medicines in Yuanzhou. Legal name, site, dosage and product evidence remain separate.

Thirty-two firms is a 2009 park record and 4,000 tonnes is a project design scale; neither is current combined capacity or market share of the three producers.

Real coordination traces supplier lot, processed herb, extractor, concentrate, dosage lot, pack and retain to approval information and actual manufacturer.

Sources and reading notes

MIIT, medicine regulators, Pharmacopoeia Commission, environmental files, universities and statutory disclosures verify cluster identity, standards, sites and producer roles. Historical park and project-design figures retain date and scope.

  • The 2024 MIIT list confirms the national name of the Yuanzhou traditional-medicine cluster.
  • The environmental file records a 4,000-tonne-per-year digital herbal-extraction workshop project, a project-design figure.
  • A 2009 Ministry of Finance report recorded 32 pharmaceutical firms in the park at that time.
  • A university visit jointly verifies Jemincare and Baishen as Yuanzhou drug producers.
