Yan'an Apple Processing

Yan’an apples move from highland orchards into grading and cold storage, then split into fresh fruit, juice and preserved products. The city’s 3.32 million mu of orchards, 4.64 million tonnes of output and RMB 50.67 billion in full-chain value measure land, goods and economic activity rather than interchangeable totals.

Formation and regional foundations

Highland temperature swings and orchard geography shape Yan'an's harvest, while county cold stores and graders extend the selling season. Fresh-market fruit and processing fruit divide at intake because appearance grades, juice yield and storage plans answer different needs.

The Yan’an apple chain runs from highland orchards through grading, cold storage, juice and preserved fruit, yet 3.32 million mu, 4.64 million tonnes and RMB 50.67 billion do not share one measurement layer. A Ministry of Agriculture study supplies the citywide farmer-linkage setting; pilot-area and processing reports record development; a provincial brand list identifies three entities. Those boundaries determine whether an apple moves fresh, into storage or into processing.

Core geography: Yan'an citywide frame for apple growing, grading, storage, processing and farmer linkage

Spatial view of Yan'an Apple Processing

Five functional nodes in Yan'an Apple Processing

Routes show how apples can move through collection, cold storage and processing; they do not establish standing sales arrangements.

  • Yan'an input and regional entry — Origin and timing conditions for highland orchards, cold storage and grading.
  • Yan'an collection node — Harvest, grading and local collection for highland orchards, cold storage and grading.
  • Yan'an processing node — Process and lot controls for juice and preserved-fruit processing.
  • Yan'an quality-check node — Yan'an Apple Processing check point for standards, tests and labels.
  • Yan'an logistics and market node — Storage, transport and delivery conditions for Yan'an Apple Processing.

01 · Yan'an Apple Processing: highland origins and report scope

Highland orchards form the citywide base; pilot projects carry separate dates.

Yan’an apples begin in highland orchards, while grading, cold storage, juice and preserved-fruit work sit in different counties and projects. A citywide agricultural study describes overall scale, and pilot-area and industry reports show particular developments. The city base and one project’s progress are separate questions.

Highland climate and orchard geography shape harvest, but fruit across Yan’an does not share one maturity, variety or logistics condition. Pilot construction has its own place and date and cannot represent citywide storage and processing capacity. Buyers need supply confirmation from the target county and orchard.

A visit can begin with orchard maturity and harvest organisation, then move to county grading, cold storage and processing. Each stop identifies operator, address, apple variety and operating status. The route turns regional development into a concrete fresh-fruit or processing project.

  • Highland orchards form the citywide base, while pilot projects have their own places and dates.

02 · Yan'an Apple Processing: area, output and chain value

Area, output, chain value and company count answer four questions.

The Ministry of Agriculture’s Yan’an study counts 3.32 million mu under orchards and 4.64 million tonnes of apples, then separately reports full-chain value of RMB 50.67 billion and a business population above 600. These are four different denominators—land, physical crop, economic value and operators—rather than a single interchangeable scale.

Area and output can produce a rough ratio but not a standard yield because orchard age, variety, bearing status and period matter. Full-chain value is not fresh-apple sales and cannot be averaged across more than 600 firms. Each measure has its own use.

Cross-region comparison should align area, output, chain value and enterprise count separately rather than mixing favourable measures into one ranking. Company work then asks about orchard control, annual throughput, cold storage, product mix and lead time. Regional indicators remain background.

  • Orchard area, apple output, chain value and company count measure land, goods, economy and entities.

03 · Yan'an Apple Processing: orchard harvest and grading

Maturity, size and post-harvest time steer fresh and processing routes.

Apples begin separating in the orchard. Maturity, size, appearance and post-harvest delay steer a lot toward fresh sale, storage or processing. Highland day-night temperature differences shape the origin, while grading still belongs to each lot.

Fresh-market fruit emphasises appearance, firmness and storage, while processing fruit uses sugar-acid balance, juice yield and damage. Mixing them at intake lets fresh pricing obscure processing value and adds sorting cost in stores and factories. Purchase grades should be clear before harvest.

Harvest records can include orchard, variety, picking date, maturity and transport start. The grading line adds size, colour, damage rate and destination. Each grade then connects to storage, fresh sale or processing, making later loss traceable.

  • Maturity, size and post-harvest delay steer apples toward fresh sale, storage or processing.

04 · Yan'an Apple Processing: cold storage, grading and processing

Cold stores, graders and juice projects receive separate operating checks.

Yan’an industry coverage includes grading, cold storage, juice and other processing projects. Stores extend the selling window, grading improves consistency, and processing absorbs fruit unsuitable for fresh sale but fit for manufacture. Design capacity and current operation differ across the facilities.

Cold storage does not stop change: temperature, humidity, atmosphere and entry maturity still drive loss. Juice lines use extraction, clarification and concentration, while preserved products add recipe and drying. Completion of one project does not show every facility operating steadily.

A plant visit can trace one fruit lot into its grade, storage position or processing input, then examine product, loss and by-products. Stores record temperature and dispatch time; lines record inputs, outputs and tests. Operating data explains near-term delivery better than project design capacity.

  • Cold stores, grading lines and juice equipment have separate capacity and operating status.

05 · Yan'an Apple Processing: brand protection and quality

The geographical indication protects origin and quality; lot acceptance checks goods.

The Yan’an apple geographical indication protects the origin name and defined qualities and helps markets recognise highland orchards. It does not mean every carton has been tested and cannot replace producer, orchard and lot information. Quality remains in the goods and lot documents.

Within one origin, variety, size, maturity and storage period still create marked differences. A brand or mark supports origin reputation, while order acceptance needs appearance, firmness, sweetness, residues, net weight and packing. Processing fruit requires separate yield or process measures.

At receipt, match package producer, origin, variety, specification and lot with the contract and test report. When geographical-indication status is old, seek current information from the authority or a formal company channel. Mark, company brand and lot testing serve different purposes.

  • The geographical indication protects origin reputation; sugar-acid balance, appearance and residues still decide lot quality.

06 · Yan'an Apple Processing: farmer linkages and returns

Farmer linkage describes a regional mechanism, not equal household returns.

Yan’an’s apple industry connects growers through organisations, purchasing, grading, storage and processing. A citywide study describes this as farmer linkage. It shows participation in the chain without promising one contract, grade or price for every household. Returns vary with output, quality and selling time.

Fresh grades, processing-fruit purchases and storage services may use different settlement terms. Average value hides the effects of rejects, packing, transport and payment period on grower income. Farmer linkage is clearer through contract coverage, settlement time, returns and quality-dispute handling.

A project visit can start with one grower or orchard lot and follow sale grade, weighing, deductions, settlement and destination. Matching that with company storage or processing records lets growers and processors discuss value from the same lot facts.

  • Farmer-linkage mechanisms show participation, while returns vary with grade, price and contract.

07 · Yan'an Apple Processing: three fruit-sector entities

Nongtou, Lvping and Zhongguo are identified only through the provincial brand list.

A provincial brand list names Yan’an Agricultural Investment (Construction) Group, Shaanxi Fuxian Lvping Fruit and Yan’an Zhongguo Agricultural Technology. It provides exact names and brand context for the three companies without listing every product, plant, customer or current operating scale.

Appearance on one list does not establish equity, contract manufacturing, supply or joint sales among the companies. A group name also does not replace the contracting and producing entity. Comparison needs separate orchards or inputs, facilities, cold storage, product forms and delivery regions.

First contact should use the full Chinese name and confirm credit information, plant address and food-production permission before stating whether the target is fresh fruit, juice or another product. The reply should identify contracting entity, production site, sample rules and recent lead time. Brand and legal entity both belong in the contract when they differ.

  • Nongtou, Lvping and Zhongguo are company entry points whose plants, products and scale need separate confirmation.

08 · Yan'an Apple Processing: checks before an order

Final checks follow orchard, grading, storage, processing and delivery.

A Yan’an apple order can follow orchard, grading, cold storage, processing and delivery. A fresh-fruit order closes around grading and cold chain, while processed goods continue into input and finished-product lots. Regional area and output provide context; responsibility stays with the operator and goods lot.

Before ordering, define variety, size, maturity, grade, quantity, delivery time and destination. Stored fruit adds storage age and dispatch temperature; processing fruit adds sugar-acid, juice yield or recipe needs. The product routes cannot share one price or acceptance condition.

A trial order starts with one fruit lot and retains orchard and grading results, temperature, packing, transport and arrival checks. Processed goods also connect input, production and finished tests. When a deviation appears, locate the stage before changing purchase volume rather than explaining it with citywide scale.

  • Order talks should start with orchard and harvest, then follow grading, storage, processing, packing and delivery.
