Xinyang Tea Processing

Xinyang Maojian starts with spring picking, fixation and drying, then extends into matcha and tea-polyphenol processing. The city reported 2.16 million mu of gardens and 100,000 tonnes of dry tea at the end of 2025, while leaf grade and season still shape each usable lot.

Formation and regional foundations

Picking windows in the Dabie Mountain gardens set the pace for leaf transport and primary making, while plants below the hills handle refining, blending and derivative products. Geographical-indication protection anchors origin and name, but each product form still has its own recipe, testing and storage requirements.

Xinyang tea processing begins with the spring harvest, but a spring news cycle does not describe the whole year. End-2025 garden area, dry-tea output, agricultural value and brand value are citywide measures; the geographical-indication list identifies authorised users; technology reports show particular processes. Keeping those records distinct makes it possible to follow Maojian leaves through primary making, further processing, brand events and procurement lots.

Spatial view of Xinyang Tea Processing

Five functional nodes in Xinyang Tea Processing

The nodes follow Maojian from garden to pack; connecting lines do not imply contracts among tea companies.

  • Xinyang input and regional entry — Origin and timing conditions for Maojian spring-tea picking and primary making.
  • Xinyang collection node — Harvest, grading and local collection for Maojian spring-tea picking and primary making.
  • Xinyang processing node — Process and lot controls for tea-polyphenol and matcha further processing.
  • Xinyang quality-check node — Xinyang Tea Processing check point for standards, tests and labels.
  • Xinyang logistics and market node — Storage, transport and delivery conditions for Xinyang Tea Processing.

01 · Xinyang Tea Processing: city scope and the spring-harvest date

The spring-harvest release fixes the citywide year; the Three Teas account adds policy scope.

A March 2026 spring-harvest briefing looks back at Xinyang’s citywide gardens, dry-tea output and value at the end of 2025. An earlier “Three Teas” account focuses on coordination among culture, industry and technology. Together they show progress while answering different questions about annual scale and development.

Xinyang gardens extend across several counties, and spring picking is seasonal. Citywide garden area does not equal leaves available on one hillside that day, and one factory’s equipment does not represent every tea company. County, elevation, harvest window and processing location all shape supply.

A useful visit can start at a named garden, continue to a nearby primary workshop and finish at a plant handling refining or extraction. The garden supplies harvest date and leaf grade, the workshop shows handover and fixation, and the plant defines tea input and product form. Citywide scale then stays separate from plant capability.

  • Citywide gardens form the base, while the spring opening date sets each season’s leaf and processing rhythm.

02 · Xinyang Tea Processing: the four annual measures

The four values—2.16 million mu, 100,000 tonnes, RMB 23 billion and RMB 8.178 billion—retain separate units.

At the end of 2025, Xinyang reported 2.16 million mu of tea gardens. Dry-tea output for the year reached 100,000 tonnes, agricultural output value RMB 23 billion and Xinyang Maojian brand value RMB 8.178 billion. The four figures measure land, goods, production activity and brand assessment.

Dividing 100,000 tonnes by 2.16 million mu yields only a rough ratio because producing status, picking rounds and mountain conditions differ. The two monetary figures also describe different concepts and cannot be allocated to Wenxin, Yunjian or Cheyun. Regional scale does not replace garden or company operations.

Cross-region comparison should align garden area at the same point in time, dry-tea output for the same year and monetary measures with the same definition. A county figure remains county-level rather than ranking directly against a city total. Differences become meaningful only after unit and geography align.

  • Garden area, dry-tea output, chain value and exports answer four different questions.

03 · Xinyang Tea Processing: hill gardens and fresh leaves

Timely fixation depends on picking, collection and waiting time.

A technology report before the 2025 tea festival follows fresh leaves into a factory and shows modern equipment entering Maojian production. A three-year programme covers base, processing and brand work from 2023 to 2025. Both underline the importance of fresh leaves without giving transport time or one purchase grade for every garden.

Maojian leaves continue losing moisture and warming after picking. Tenderness, spreading time and transport container all affect fixation. Two loads travelling similar mountain distances can develop different aroma and colour when picking and handover rhythms differ. “Xinyang Maojian fresh leaves” alone cannot explain the finished tea.

Fresh-leaf handover can record garden, variety or population, picking time, grade, leaf temperature and carrier. The plant adds net weight, waiting time and any rejection reason, then links the load to its fixation lot. Separate samples before mixing gardens preserve the origin of later differences.

  • Waiting time after picking changes aroma and colour, making collection radius a direct quality factor.

04 · Xinyang Tea Processing: primary and further processing

Fixation, rolling, drying and extraction require separate line readings.

Primary Maojian starts with fresh leaves and uses fixation, rolling and drying to produce dry tea. Refining, blending, matcha or polyphenol work uses dry tea or by-products. The plants, measured inputs and outputs differ, and an upgrade plan does not mean every machine is in continuous operation.

When one lot moves from primary making into extraction, transferred dry tea follows its lot code rather than becoming another fresh-leaf purchase. Nameplate speed also excludes changeovers, cleaning, downtime and rejected goods. Deliverable volume depends on operating hours and yield, not rated speed multiplied by days.

During a line walk, choose one finished bag and trace it through receiving, fixation, rolling, drying and storage. Tea continuing into extraction or matcha receives a new process lot with tea input, other materials, loss and test samples. The connection separates primary-making loss from further-processing loss.

  • Primary processing forms the tea, while refining, blending and extraction create different equipment needs.

05 · Xinyang Tea Processing: geographical indication and authorised users

The geographical-indication list checks names; mark use does not replace lot testing.

Xinyang’s market regulator published an authorised-user list for the Xinyang Maojian geographical-indication mark, naming Wenxin, Yunjian and Cheyun with codes. It establishes the company names and mark-use status at that time but does not publish every product, capacity, customer or tea-lot result.

A geographical indication protects origin and characteristics, while the authorised company must still match actual goods to the rules. Listing does not permit every package to use the mark or guarantee later status. When one company sells several teas, producer, standard and product lot must agree.

At inspection, read the complete producer name, then examine the applied standard, production date, net content and test report. Package lot, sample and report should correspond. When the list is old, the authority or a formal company channel can confirm current mark use. The logo is a lead, not a substitute for lot quality.

  • The geographical indication protects name and origin; a transaction still depends on season, grade and lot.

06 · Xinyang Tea Processing: festival trading and routine markets

The tea festival shows market attention; annual trade returns to contracts and dispatches.

The tea festival brings buyers, brands, equipment and visitors together, making it useful for observing seasonal products and market interest. Stands, discussions and sales belong to the event rather than annual orders. Spring supply also overlaps with festival attention, amplifying short-term heat.

A small tasting sample does not reveal breakage, moisture or odour transfer after bulk transport, nor demand for summer tea, routine packs or extracts. Tourism favours experience, while recurring factory orders value stable grade, packing and lead time. Market reading should separate product form and month.

Once a festival lead becomes a trial order, both sides should define specification, available months, quotation validity, retained sample and delivery point. Arrival checks cover aroma, liquor colour, net weight, breakage and package damage. A first tasting becomes routine purchasing only after consistent lots.

  • The tea festival concentrates attention and leads, while annual sales depend on continuing orders and dispatch.

07 · Xinyang Tea Processing: identity boundaries for three entities

Wenxin, Yunjian and Cheyun appear by official full name; scale is not inferred.

“Xinyang Wenxin Tea Company Limited,” “Xinyang Yunjian Tea Company Limited” and “Xinyang Cheyun Tea Company Limited” are separate legal entities. City wording, legal form and exact characters affect contracts, invoices and permissions, so brand shorthand cannot replace the full name.

Appearing together on the authorised-user list only means each was named at that time. It does not show shared gardens, plants, customers or logistics, and the list gives no equity, contact or current scale. A company comparison needs separate products, addresses, supply months and quality systems.

Before contact, use the full Chinese name to check credit information, current address and production permission, then send the enquiry to that entity. The reply should identify contracting company, plant, tea type and lot rules. If shop or brand differs from the legal entity, the contract should state trademark use and actual producer.

  • Wenxin, Yunjian and Cheyun provide recognisable company entry points without implying equal operating scale.

08 · Xinyang Tea Processing: procurement and field checks

One tea lot must connect garden, process, testing, packing and delivery.

A Xinyang tea lot moves through picking, fresh-leaf handover, primary making, refining or derivative processing, packing and delivery. City scale describes the industrial base and the mark-user list helps locate companies, but purchasing quality lives in the lot chain.

Fresh leaves, dry tea, extracts and packaged tea need different specifications. Leaves use garden, grade and timing; dry tea adds sensory and physicochemical results; extracts add active content and solvent residue. Each later form should retain a link to its previous lot.

A trial order can select one product and delivery month, defining producer, origin, grade, net content, packing, testing and transport. Arrival results and retained samples show stability. Expansion follows only when consecutive lots remain consistent in aroma, weight, packing and documents.

  • A Xinyang tea order should put garden, harvest, process, testing, packing and delivery in one specification.
