Wuhan Dongxihu food processing
Dongxihu brings together distinct systems for snacks, marinated foods and grain-and-oil processing. Sourcing should state raw-material lots, allergen zoning, thermal conditions, package seals, cold-chain requirements and recall ownership separately; a brand's store count cannot replace plant quality records.
Formation and regional foundations
An early base in grain, oil and food processing was later joined by beverages, snacks, meat products and packaging, while park upgrades, cold chains and public testing increased coordination. Firms share logistics and suppliers, but each entity remains responsible for recipes, licences, lines and release decisions.
Dongxihu hosts snack foods, marinated foods and grain-and-oil processing. They share park logistics but use very different ingredients, temperatures and release controls, so the chain is best read through a named entity, plant and lot rather than inferred from a brand’s store count.
Core geography: Centred on the food industry parks of Wuhan Linkonggang Economic and Technological Development Zone, the cluster links grain and oil, meat products, snacks, beverages, cold chains, packaging and quality testing; only entities with public production evidence in Dongxihu are included.
Dongxihu food-lot path
Six nodes from ingredient acceptance to channel handover
The diagram is a quality-responsibility path, not a claim that oil, marinated food and snacks share a line. Each product is released against its own formula, permission and storage conditions.
- Suppliers and ingredient lots — Links nuts, spices, poultry, grains and oilseeds to suppliers, arrival times and acceptance results.
- Formula and batching — Locks formula revision, weighing, rework and allergen status before batching.
- Thermal processing and cooling — Records the relevant time and temperature for braising, baking, frying or refining, including the cooling wait.
- Packing and lot coding — Seal, net quantity, label and production code together make the finished lot identifiable.
- Storage and transport — Ambient, cool and chilled goods retain location, temperature, rotation and vehicle handover records separately.
- Channel handover and recall — Connects orders, distributors or store receipts to the original production code so destinations can be isolated quickly.
01 · Start with the product and plant
Three processing systems in one park need different checklists.
Snack foods may involve many suppliers and contract processors, marinated foods depend on continuous cooking and cooling, while grain and oil begin with bulk storage before milling or refining. The first project page should name the product, producing entity, plant and selling entity.
A brand can span several plants and categories, so store count, online sales and total revenue reveal little about one line. Plant review should start from a real lot code and trace backwards rather than extrapolate from a brand profile.
Public material establishes a real concentration of food firms in Dongxihu and outlines representative businesses. Which building made a given product, whether work was in-house or contracted, and whether it ran that day require permission appendices, schedules and lot records.
02 · Ingredient receipt makes later tracing possible
Poultry, nuts, grains and oilseeds have different receipt priorities.
Poultry receipt focuses on temperature, condition and delivery time; nuts add moisture, pests and oxidation; grains and oilseeds bring foreign matter, storage history and bulk vehicles. Purchase specifications should turn those differences into measurable acceptance limits.
Sampling position matters as much as the test. Taking only the load surface, checking outer packs alone or combining supplier lots can hide moisture, temperature excursions and local contamination; sample identity should return to the vehicle, container and supplier lot.
Rejected ingredients need physical separation and a disposition, not an indefinitely parked red tag. If material is returned, downgraded or retested, quantity changes and the approving person should appear in both inventory and production records.
03 · Read formula, allergens and rework together
One label statement rests on formula revision and changeover cleaning.
Nuts, gluten-containing grains, soy and sesame may coexist in a snack plant. Zoned storage is only the start: weighing tools, addition order, rework routes and neighbouring schedules also change cross-contact risk.
A visual check alone does not verify cleaning after a product change. The plant should define difficult locations, method, sampling points, decision limits and restart conditions, then test the plan against its actual product combinations.
Rework retains its source product, original lot, permitted destination and maximum share. If it changes formula or allergen status, the label and finished-product decision must change too; yield recovery does not outrank consumer information.
04 · Heating and cooling form one continuous control
Reaching a temperature does not prove the whole lot is controlled.
Braising focuses on core temperature and hold time; baking and frying also manage moisture, colour and oil condition; edible-oil refining uses another parameter set. Records should state measurement point, equipment, load and decision basis.
Equipment displays need verification inside the product, especially at the densest load, slowest heating or weakest flow. One study cannot permanently cover changes in formula, pack size, loading pattern or equipment.
The wait after heating is often missed. Slow cooling of marinated food or prolonged holding of baked goods in humid air adds risk before packing, so finish time, cooling curve and pack-entry time should correspond.
05 · Packaging protects the food and carries its identity
Seal, label and lot code need one closed check.
Nitrogen-flushed bags, vacuum packs, trays, bottles and oil containers fail differently. Barrier properties, sealing temperature, seal contamination, cap torque or container cleanliness should follow the food and shelf life rather than a supplier’s generic setting.
Date, shift, line and lot code should identify the finished goods uniquely. A legible code that disagrees with production records is still wrong; label remnants need particular control during roll, film and repacking changes.
Pack checks should not occur only at start-up. First piece, steady run, post-change and final piece answer different questions; leak, net content, label and appearance results should remain tied to pallet or case codes.
06 · Storage and transport extend product conditions
Warehouse entry is not the end of processing responsibility.
Ambient snacks still need moisture, pest and odour control; chilled marinated foods depend more on continuous temperature, while oils require attention to containers, light and oxidation. Warehouse zones should follow risk and compatibility, not merely brand.
First-in first-out is not always enough; remaining shelf life and customer delivery windows may matter more. System stock, physical location, pallet code and hold status should agree, with differences traced to moves, split cases or returns.
Before loading, confirm vehicle cleanliness, temperature and previous cargo; handover records product code, quantity, seal and consignee. A cold-chain excursion needs more than “vehicle fault”: duration, product temperature and delivery suitability require evaluation.
07 · Release, official sampling and recall answer different questions
One passing result cannot replace a complete lot decision.
Factory release uses the lot’s ingredients, process and finished tests, while official sampling takes a sample at a stated time and place. Both matter, but one passing sample does not prove every lot, and a failure must first be matched to product, code and entity.
The release person should see every deviation closed, including rework, label replacement, temperature excursions and retests. If shipment can occur before all results, the plant should define risk conditions, approval level and later interception.
A recall exercise runs both ways: from one ingredient to every finished destination and from one finished case back to ingredients and process records. Quantity balance exposes unrecorded bulk material, rework, samples and transit loss.
08 · Three examples show different transaction interfaces
Brand operations, marinated-food production and grain-oil processing need different evidence.
Bestore’s disclosed role spans product development, sourcing, quality management and multichannel sales. A review should identify the actual producer, approval of supplier changes and how brand standards become plant tests.
Zhou Hei Ya is closer to marinated-food production and channel operation, so review centres on thawing, cooking, rapid cooling, pack integrity and chilled handover. Store receipts should return to the plant code and dispatch temperature.
The Yihai Kerry Wuhan example moves from bulk grain and oil receipt into processing and packing, with a lot crossing tanks, lines and pack sizes. Quantity review should separate input stock, yield, bulk transfer and retail packs rather than treating equal totals as closed traceability.
Sources and reading notes
Park counts retain the government’s published scope and company examples show only disclosed roles. A sourcing review should obtain current formula or product specifications, production permission, ingredient lots, process records, finished-product tests and destinations, then confirm that every document belongs to the same lot.
