Tongren Tea Processing
Tongren in Guizhou processes Jiangkou matcha, Yinjiang ecological teas and Sinan black and green tea. Citywide output, value, sales and exports describe 2024 as a whole, whereas company processes, permits and export status apply only to their products.
Formation and regional foundations
Mountain gardens supply fresh leaf, while county factories create different products through steaming, drying, milling and conventional green- and black-tea work. Quality management follows harvest lots through refining, packing, storage and domestic or export channels.
Tea from mountain gardens in Tongren, Guizhou enters Jiangkou matcha, Yinjiang green and black teas, and Sinan export products. City output, total value, sales and exports describe 2024 overall, while cup consistency returns to leaf season, making parameters, refined lots and storage.

Municipal and county nodes in Tongren tea
How Jiangkou, Yinjiang and Sinan create different teas
The map connects city tea context with three county-company routes without proving movement of fresh leaf, crude tea or finished goods among firms. Purchase slips, lot codes, storage and dispatch establish actual product paths.
- Tongren city tea industry — The city node carries 2024 output, value, sales and exports without allocating them to county firms.
- Jiangkou matcha processing — The Jiangkou node links steaming, low-temperature drying and micronising, with line status confirmed at the plant.
- Yinjiang green- and black-tea processing — The Yinjiang node provides a case of green and black tea with hand and machine work, with current scope defined by permits.
- Sinan black and green tea and export directory — The Sinan node connects with a formal export-business directory, where listing is not continuing export or shipment volume.
- Tongren Guicha Jiangkou plant — The Guicha node covers named Jiangkou matcha processes, automated lines and quality guidance.
- Yinjiang Qianming Tea — The Qianming node covers a Yinjiang company, green and black teas and a company-supplied traceability profile.
- Sinan Qianhongxin Tea — The Qianhongxin node covers Sinan tea processing and directory status for black and green export products.
01 · The city tea industry contains distinct county products
Matcha, green tea and black tea have different material and equipment windows.
Tongren’s city tea industry spans gardens, primary and refined production, sales and exports, with named product settings in Jiangkou, Yinjiang and Sinan. Jiangkou emphasises matcha, Yinjiang has ecological green and black tea, and a Sinan firm enters a black- and green-tea export directory. The counties form one city context without sharing one fresh-leaf lot.
Matcha requires suitable material and control of steaming, drying and milling, while leaf green and black teas use different shaping or oxidation. Colour, aroma, taste and extraction cannot borrow one another’s criteria. Plant equipment is configured for the intended tea type.
A buyer defines tea type, use, style, residues, microbes, packing and timing before selecting county and firm. Drinking tea, culinary matcha and beverage ingredients have different sensory and physical needs. City scale describes the supply setting without replacing samples.
- County routes help select products without creating fixed supply.
02 · Output, value, sales and exports cannot be added
The four measures share a year but observe different economic activity.
In 2024 Tongren tea output was 118,600 tonnes, total output value RMB 13.16 billion, sales 96,300 tonnes and exports 2,105 tonnes. All use the city tea-industry scope. Value is monetary, while the other three use weight.
Output reflects production, sales reflect transactions during the year, and exports are an overseas direction within sales. Exports are not added again to sales. Output above sales alone does not prove inventory growth because opening stock, cross-period transactions, loss and statistical differences also matter.
Year comparisons seek a comparable figure for each measure and confirm whether sales continue to include exports. A material balance also needs opening and closing stock, processing inputs and outputs and returns. The four figures alone cannot yield average tea price or company share.
- A common tonne unit does not mean a common population.
03 · Tea material balance crosses fresh leaf, crude tea and finished goods
One tonne at different processing stages is not the same material.
Fresh leaf loses substantial weight through spreading, fixation or withering, rolling, oxidation and drying, and crude tea is then sorted, blended and refined into goods. A “tea output” measure needs its product stage identified. Comparing it with company finished sales before that creates false loss.
Current-year sales may include prior-season stock, and current production may sell in the next year. Export goods also pass contract, inspection, customs and transport time. Year boundaries can place one tea lot in different indicator periods.
A company material balance begins with fresh-leaf or crude-tea purchase, processing input, output, loss, work in process and finished inventory. Each stage uses its own unit and moisture basis. Sales and dispatch then connect by lot to explain inventory movement.
- Inventory and loss are calculated only after stages align.
04 · Jiangkou matcha controls colour, fineness and storage
Steaming, drying and micronising determine powder performance in drinks and foods.
Guizhou Tongren Guicha Tea Co., Ltd. is in Jiangkou County, with named processes including steam fixation, low-temperature drying and micronising and a dated description of four automated matcha lines. This establishes a process and equipment route. It is not permanent capacity or a city matcha share.
Matcha material, steaming intensity, drying temperature and milling heat affect colour, aroma, fineness and dispersion. Powder readily absorbs moisture, oxidises and fades in light. Oxygen barrier, light protection and storage after opening are also part of quality.
The market regulator visited the company and provided guidance on quality management, standardisation and preparation for a quality-award application, showing improvement activity at that time. Preparing an application is not winning the award. Customers still check grade, lot tests, drink or baking behaviour and shelf life.
- Line count does not mean every line runs continuously at full load.
05 · The Yinjiang company case needs current operating confirmation
A company-supplied product profile locates a route without proving every current condition.
A traceability profile for Guizhou Yinjiang Qianming Green Ecological Tea Co., Ltd. gives a Muhuang Town address, green and black teas and a combination of hand and machine work. The content comes from the company. It describes a business case at that time without independently establishing current output or certification.
Hand work may support selection, shaping or fine control, while machines provide temperature, time and batch stability. The division depends on product and process instructions. Treating “handmade” as a generic quality label hides parameters that shape the cup.
Before purchasing, current production permits, labels, certification validity and recent lots are reviewed, with green and black tea assessed separately. Export or cooperation requires dated transaction information. An earlier address and product profile do not guarantee later operation.
- Permits, lots and products on sale supplement an earlier profile.
06 · The Sinan export directory confirms products, not shipment volume
Listing provides a market route; actual export still needs contracts and customs.
A 2023 Guizhou agricultural-export directory lists Guizhou Qianhongxin Tea Technology Co., Ltd. in Sinan County as a tea processor with black and green tea export products. The directory confirms entity and product fields at that time. It contains no shipment volume or transaction date for the company.
Tongren’s 2,105 tonnes of exports in 2024 belong to the city tea industry and cannot be assigned to Qianhongxin. A firm may change market, product or operating status after listing. Continuing exports require current directory, customs, contract or receipt information.
An export order also controls residues, contaminants, label language, packing, lot consistency and destination requirements. Black and green tea prepare separate samples and tests. Directory status becomes customer experience only through conforming goods and timely delivery.
- City export tonnes cannot be assigned to one listed company.
07 · Guicha, Qianming and Qianhongxin have distinct product boundaries
The three companies cannot fill one another’s capacity, quality or customers.
Tongren Guicha corresponds to Jiangkou matcha processes and automated lines, with customers focusing on powder fineness, colour, microbes and packing. A line description does not become city output. Representative lots and lead time show current capability.
Yinjiang Qianming corresponds to a company case involving green and black tea and mixed hand-machine work, with purchasing updating permits and saleable lots. An earlier company profile does not establish continuing exports. Different tea types also cannot borrow matcha powder criteria.
Qianhongxin corresponds to Sinan processing and black and green products in an export directory, while actual volume still needs transaction evidence. A common Tongren location creates no default supply chain among the three. Any blending, contract work or purchasing is confirmed by both firms’ lots and contracts.
- Company roles attach to county, tea type and actual plant.
08 · Visits and purchasing both follow tea type
Making season, plant access and recent lots determine the real experience.
The Jiangkou route suits matcha steaming, drying and milling, Yinjiang can show green and black tea making, and Sinan connects with export products. Plant access is confirmed in advance. Harvest season and production scheduling determine which processes are visible.
Purchasing checks producer, permit, standard, lot, storage and shelf life and then brews with appropriate water and dose. Matcha also considers suspension, colour and culinary use. Black and green tea separately record aroma, taste, infused leaf and changes over infusions.
After a company sample passes, the order retains tea type, grade and packing boundaries, with consecutive receipts showing style drift. A deviation returns to fresh leaf, primary making, refining or storage. The next season adjusts formulation and purchasing through actual performance rather than city totals.
- A cup of tea is easier to verify than a broad origin story.
