Shanghai Jinshan optical-transmission materials

The public thread of Shanghai Jinshan optical-transmission materials contains three different objects: copper and aluminium conductors, sheathing compounds and optical-fibre reinforcement. They raise different equipment, test or commercial questions; regional records define scope, while company sources support only stated products and capabilities.

Formation and regional foundations

Jinshan optical-transmission materials extend from metal conductors to insulation jackets, optical reinforcement and cabling. Resistance, extrusion stability and full-drum continuity place separate constraints on material choice and delivery.

Jinshan transmission materials extend from copper and aluminium conductors and polymer insulation to optical-fibre reinforcement and flame tests. Project signings and zone boundaries locate the industry; continuous length and lot data determine whether a product can ship.

Core geography: A Jinshan materials chain in Zhangyan Optical Transmission Valley linking conductor alloys, insulation and sheathing, reinforcement materials and cable manufacture

Five manufacturing gates for transmission materials

How conductor, insulation and reinforcement become one cable

Conductors set resistance upstream, sheathing compounds enter extrusion, and optical reinforcement then constrains attenuation; the Zhangyan node brings those stages together.

  • Conductor forming — Copper and aluminium conductors start with resistance and geometry.
  • Insulation extrusion — Insulation extrusion controls heat, eccentricity and spark tests.
  • Flame-retardant test — Flame ratings correspond to structure, standard and test method.
  • Fibre reinforcement — Fibre reinforcement controls tension, bending and long-term attenuation.
  • Cable assembly — Cabling combines stranding, sheathing, marking and reels.

01 · Material layers within 2.35 square kilometres

Zone area, actor samples and product chain retain the 2024 date.

A June 2024 People’s Daily Online account describes a 2.35-square-kilometre zone in Zhangyan and names Qifan, Xieyi, Zili and CSMET among its participants. Shanghai’s 2024 list records the municipal cultivation stage, while the 2025 MIIT notice confirms the formal cluster name and its three-year validity. The three dates describe different stages of recognition in the same locality. None of those recognitions states company output or orders.

The 2.35-square-kilometre figure describes spatial concentration; it does not create a trading relationship between the named firms. Metal conductors, polymer auxiliaries and finished cables sit near one another but raise different questions about grade and resistivity, formulation and extrusion, or construction and full-drum testing. One generic specification would blur the quoted object, inspection method and responsible party. A merged sheet would also obscure fault ownership.

A Jinshan shortlist can separate conductor alloys, insulation or sheathing compounds, reinforcement parts and finished cables. Each entry should carry its Zhangyan location, visible product form, document date and contact. If a combined supply is required, obtain a project number, contractual division or interface document acknowledged by both sides instead of assuming continuous trade from a zone listing. Sample numbering can then follow the same material classes.

  • The 2.35 square kilometres describe spatial concentration in Zhangyan, not existing procurement between neighbours.
  • Metal conductors, polymer auxiliaries and finished cables face resistance, extrusion-window and full-drum tests respectively.
  • The shortlist separates conductors, insulation and sheathing, reinforcement and cabling; combined supply needs a project interface document.

02 · Which material layer belongs to Qifan, CSMET or Zili

Cable, metal and polymer quotation boundaries cannot be merged.

The Zhangyan account places Qifan on the wire-and-cable manufacturing side, and Qifan’s own site supplies its Zhangyan address and sales network. CSMET lists low-carbon recycled aluminium alloys, ingots and molten aluminium, while Zili appears in the zone’s polymer and auxiliary-material context. These are different entries into cabling, metal feedstock and plastic products; no fixed three-party purchasing arrangement is stated. Commercial terms still need separate enquiries to each legal entity.

A finished-cable quotation may include conductor, insulation, stranding, sheath, testing and reels. Aluminium-alloy pricing turns more directly on grade, form, weight and lot chemistry, while polymer products may include compounding and line-trial costs. Even when all three use a price per kilogram, they lack a common basis; ignoring yield loss, continuous length and validation can make the cheapest unit price the costlier delivery. Reels, packaging and transport create further cost differences.

Send Qifan the cable construction, length and factory-test requirements; give the metal-material party the alloy grade, temper and resistivity; and state resin base, use and extrusion conditions for a polymer sample. After responses arrive, consolidate them against the same end product’s electrical, mechanical, fire or transmission criteria, assigning investigation of material faults, trial losses and cabling failures to named parties. The consolidated sheet retains only interfaces tied to named tests.

  • Qifan, CSMET and Zili enter the chain through cabling, aluminium feedstock and polymer products respectively.
  • Even per-kilogram prices lack a common basis across cable construction, alloy heats and compound line trials.
  • Separate enquiries state cable length and construction, alloy temper and resistivity, and resin use and extrusion conditions before end-product consolidation.

03 · Conductors start with resistance and origin

Composition, temper and cross-section shape electrical performance.

The Zhangyan industry account places metal materials before drawing and cable manufacture. CSMET publicly lists low-carbon recycled aluminium alloys, ingots and molten aluminium, while Qifan’s material concerns wires, cables and its manufacturing network. This establishes local nodes for metal input and cabling, but recycled aluminium describes an input route rather than approval of a particular alloy grade for a particular conductor. Conductor suitability therefore starts again from the exact grade.

Conductor resistance is shaped not only by nominal purity but also by alloying elements, inclusions, annealing, drawing strain and actual cross-section. Greater strength may trade against conductivity, while dimensional deviation changes resistance per unit length. Recycled-input proportion, mechanical properties and electrical performance therefore need comparison within the same grade and delivery condition; environmental attributes cannot substitute for conductor suitability. The strength-conductivity trade-off must also tolerate cable bending.

A purchase specification for aluminium rod, wire or strip should state grade, temper, diameter or thickness tolerance, resistance per unit length and tensile requirements, together with lot chemistry and test method. Where recycled input is permitted, agree segregation, melt identification and change notification. Confirm the choice with real drawing and cabling data rather than one incoming sample. Melt-lot retesting can precede release of the commercial shipment.

  • Recycled aluminium describes a feed route, not approval of a particular grade for a specified conductor.
  • Resistance depends on alloying, inclusions, annealing, drawing strain and actual cross-section together.
  • Rod or wire specifications bind heat chemistry, dimensions, resistance and tensile results, followed by real cabling before volume release.

04 · Insulation and sheath are not one plastic

Electrical, mechanical, fire and weather requirements drive different compounds.

The Zhangyan account places firms such as Zili in the plastics and auxiliary-material segment, the municipal list confirms the local optical-transmission materials cluster, and signing information introduces further optoelectronic material directions. Together they show that polymers belong to the chain, but they neither classify every local plastic as cable insulation nor turn a signed project into a compound already supplied at volume. New optoelectronic materials also need an actual production trial.

Insulation first provides electrical separation, so dielectric behaviour, volume resistivity and thermal ageing matter. An outer sheath faces abrasion, oil, ultraviolet exposure, low temperature and bending. Flame retardants, fillers and colour systems also change melt flow, surface quality and mechanical strength. Calling both layers the same plastic can leave environmental durability unchecked even after a voltage test passes. Accelerated ageing conditions also differ between cable layers.

A trial request should identify resin base, flame system, colour, drying condition, recommended temperature range and intended cable layer, followed by extrusion on the actual conductor and tooling. Record head pressure, diameter, eccentricity, surface and spark tests continuously. After cabling, test fire, weathering or oil resistance to the applicable standard instead of treating a small material coupon as proof for the finished construction. Colour or formulation changes require separate purge and transition records.

  • Insulation provides electrical separation, while sheathing faces abrasion, oil, ultraviolet exposure, cold and bending.
  • Flame retardants, fillers and colourants alter flow, surface and strength; a voltage pass does not cover long-term weathering.
  • Trial extrusion uses the real conductor and die, recording pressure, eccentricity and sparks before environmental tests on the cable.

05 · The extrusion window decides line usability

A conforming laboratory pellet still needs machine, die and line-speed validation.

Qifan’s public network and the Zhangyan account together establish a local application node where conductors and polymer materials enter cable manufacture, while CSMET adds the metal-input side. They outline adjacent stages from feedstock to cabling, but do not publish the screw set, die size, running temperatures or stable speed of each extrusion line. Those parameters remain line-specific. Line capability can therefore be confirmed only on the relevant equipment.

Polymer moisture, melt strength, filtration pressure, haul-off stability and cooling rate interact to shape surface, diameter and eccentricity. A periodic fluctuation hidden in a short low-speed sample may repeat for hundreds of metres at production speed, causing spark alarms or rejection of a drum. Line usability means a sufficiently wide, repeatable good window, not merely that material can be extruded once. Periodic defects are harder to catch at final inspection than one excursion.

Start a new compound at low speed and step toward the target rate, recording melt temperature, head pressure, current, diameter, eccentricity and spark events at each stage while marking screen changes, stops and joints. After an agreed continuous length, compare yield, purge loss and recovery time. A volume temperature window and permitted variation should follow only when those measures remain stable. Compare diameter and defect density on the first and last drums.

  • Cluster material cannot state the screw, die, temperature profile or stable rate of a specific extrusion line.
  • Periodic variation hidden in a short sample can repeat at production speed and cause alarms or rejection of a drum.
  • A new compound steps through speeds while pressure, current, diameter and defects are logged; matching first and last drums defines the volume window.

06 · Optical transmission adds geometric constraints

Core, cladding, coating and strength member shape loss and reliability.

The Optical Transmission Valley signing record names proposed directions involving Wenlai Optoelectronics, Shanghai Weilan and Shengyu Semiconductor. The Zhangyan account describes existing cable and material actors, while the national list confirms the cluster name and jurisdiction. These materials show an expanding optoelectronic layout, but a signing does not establish a complete local chain from preform and drawing through coating, reinforcement and cabling. The project team must close each missing optical-fibre stage individually.

Sheaths, loose tubes and reinforcement in an optical cable affect attenuation through shrinkage, microbending and long-term stress, in addition to weather, fire and tensile performance. A material strong enough for an electrical cable may not preserve fibre geometry after temperature cycling. Optical acceptance must read dimensional change together with wavelength, length, bend radius and environmental condition. Geometric stability must persist through material, processing and cabling.

An optical-cable enquiry should include the construction drawing, fibre count, reinforcement method, service environment, permitted bend radius, and tensile, crush, temperature-cycle and attenuation criteria. Separate incoming tests owned by the material supplier, process control owned by the cabler and type tests attended by both. A construction or formulation change should trigger review of the affected tests. After a failed test, preserve original specimens under the agreed responsibility split.

  • An optoelectronic project signing shows expansion, not a complete chain of preform, drawing, coating, reinforcement and cabling.
  • Shrinkage and microbending from tubes, jackets and reinforcement alter fibre attenuation; electrical-cable strength is not a substitute test.
  • An optical-cable enquiry specifies construction, fibre count, bend radius and environmental tests, allocating incoming, process and type-test duties.

07 · Lot tests must connect to continuous length

For drum delivery, joints and exception positions belong in the quality record.

Qifan’s site verifies its Zhangyan address, public telephone and sales network. The People’s Daily Online zone account places it in the local wire-and-cable chain, and Shanghai’s list confirms the municipal cluster. These details identify a manufacturing node but contain no drum number, measured length, conductor resistance, voltage result or joint position for a particular shipment. An address and cluster listing show where the supplier is located; the quality documents accompanying that cable drum show what was actually delivered.

A short sample passing resistance, voltage or visual inspection proves only the sampled position. It cannot exclude joints, eccentric insulation, pinholes or sheath damage elsewhere on the drum. Spark alarms, material changes, stops and take-up tension all have time and length positions in continuous production. Without mapping those events to metre marks, a final sample cannot explain an intermittent fault. Clear event locations allow the rework range to be narrowed.

Before ordering, agree drum length, tolerance, sampling frequency and joint policy. Shipment records should list drum number, metre range, conductor lot and resistance, voltage and spark-test results, marking stops, material changes and any permitted joint. If receiving inspection finds a fault, these records can isolate adjacent metres and input lots instead of attributing a whole batch to one coupon. Any permitted joint identifier should also match the reel label.

  • A company address locates the factory but says nothing about one drum’s length, resistance, voltage result or joints.
  • Stops, material changes, spark alarms and take-up tension must map to metre marks; a coupon cannot cover intermittent drum defects.
  • Shipment records link drum, metre range, conductor lot and tests so a fault can be narrowed to adjacent length.

08 · Signed projects stay outside current capacity

Proposed landing, design output and current supply use different states.

The Optical Transmission Valley signing material lists proposed project directions, investment and output envisaged after reaching design conditions. Shanghai and MIIT lists record municipal and national cluster status. Signing, planned investment, design output and recognition each have their own date and purpose; none by itself means that equipment is installed, products have entered trial production or a company delivers continuously at design scale. A later project status must not rewrite historical statistics.

Adding design output directly to current supply would turn uninstalled or commissioning equipment into schedulable resources and may confuse a proposed entity with an existing legal company. For cable materials, a completed building still precedes formulation scale-up, continuous line trials, type testing and customer validation. Any unfinished stage changes the specifications and cadence that can actually be delivered. A fixed cadence is premature without enough validated lots.

Project tracking should separate signing, environmental review, civil works, equipment arrival, trial production, customer validation and volume production, attaching a date, legal entity and verifiable progress to each change. Only volume output supported by lot or continuous-length data for the required specification belongs in a supply plan. Design output remains a future assumption rather than a substitute for lead time, inventory or yield. Each status increase should retain its corresponding lot evidence.

  • Signed investment, design output and cluster recognition do not mean equipment is installed or products are in volume production.
  • A new cable-material line still needs formulation scale-up, continuous trials, type testing and customer validation.
  • Project tracking separates signing, construction, equipment, trials and volume; only continuous-length evidence enters the supply plan.
