Dehua centres on white-porcelain bodies, household ceramics and decorative products, linking clay and glaze, moulds, kilns, design, testing, packaging and trade in a consumer-ceramics network.

Formation and regional foundations

Local ceramic materials and long-standing craft formed the base. Workshops and larger firms coexist, while design, efficient kilns, standards, trade and e-commerce continue to develop the industry.

Dehua white porcelain begins with body formulation, moulds and forming, then passes through drying, glazing, firing and grading before reaching dining, home, gift and export channels. Whiteness is only one visible attribute; food-contact safety, thermal stability, lot colour consistency and transit breakage all affect the value of tableware or decorative ware.

The links show a typical product flow and do not imply that Shunmei, Jiamei and Huamao share factories, orders or quality systems.

01 · Four Dehua Measures Cannot Become One Company’s Scale

Firm count, larger operators, partial-year output and export reach answer different questions.

The Fujian industry authority records 4,510 ceramics firms in Dehua, including 190 above designated size, and RMB 27.55 billion of industry output from January through May 2024. The locality also entered the 2023 specialised SME cluster list. These facts describe operators, statistical tier, partial-period production and cluster status respectively.

The total includes firms of different sizes and roles, while the larger-enterprise count does not equal operating production lines. Five-month output cannot simply be annualised or divided among companies. Cluster recognition shows specialised concentration but does not prove capacity for a named plant, kiln or order.

A regional register classifies firms by legal status and actual activity, labels the statistical year for larger operators, and retains the start and end months for output. A purchase file separately records production site, major equipment, current schedule and delivery week. Company sales or capacity require disclosure or contract evidence for that entity.

02 · A Shunmei Project Identity Must Resolve to Form and Kiln Run

The regional range is broad, but an order still starts with one defined item.

A Dehua County project record identifies the Shunmei legal entity and its Dehua project, while regional industry information covers a broad range including tableware, tea ware, decorative pieces and gifts. Together they place the firm in the local ceramics setting. They do not assign every Dehua firm, output figure or export market to Shunmei.

A cup, plate, pot and pierced decorative piece can use different forming methods, drying cycles and kiln supports despite all being white porcelain. A small change in wall thickness or handle joint may shift distortion and crack locations after firing. A product name alone cannot support a reliable estimate of mould life, yield or replenishment time.

A Shunmei enquiry supplies dimensions, capacity, weight range, white or colour reference, glaze, artwork, backstamp, use case and annual demand pattern. First-article approval records mould number, body and glaze lots, kiln run and packing arrangement. If production departs from the sealed sample, the affected lot is contained before rework, downgrade or remake is chosen.

03 · Jiamei Product Information Does Not Replace an Input and Outsourcing List

A product catalogue indicates discussable categories; supply stability depends on real nodes.

The Jiamei official site provides ceramics product, manufacturing and company information, while the Dehua industry record describes a regional network of bodies, glazes, moulds, kilns, packaging and trade. The two have different entity and scope boundaries. Jiamei’s business entry does not prove that it makes every input, and regional supply cannot be treated as Jiamei inventory.

Second-tier inputs often drive batch stability. Clay moisture and particle size affect forming, a glaze change may alter gloss, and decals or colourants influence fired colour. Worn outsourced moulds accumulate dimensional error, while lighter cartons or inserts raise transit breakage. Nominal availability does not mean every order revision is approved.

An order with Jiamei marks each bill-of-material item as internal, purchased or outsourced and retains supplier code, specification revision, test item and substitution approver for critical inputs. Before scheduling, the parties check remaining mould cycles, glaze coverage and decoration lead time. Volume can wait when a substitute has not passed a refired sample.

04 · The Domestic-Porcelain Standard Must Match an Actual Lot

A cluster name does not perform inspection, and a product standard does not count the industry.

The industry ministry list confirms the relevant Dehua specialised SME cluster, and the national market regulator provides the authoritative entry for domestic-porcelain standard GB/T 3532-2022. One describes industrial concentration and the other sets quality requirements for a product class. Neither alone proves that a lot of cups or plates meets food-contact or durability requirements.

Water absorption, thermal stability, lead and cadmium migration, glaze and dimensions use different specimens and test conditions. Decorative ware and vessels in direct food contact may also face different requirements. Without model, material, decoration method and production site, a buyer cannot tell whether a report covers the goods in hand.

The contract fixes intended use and the applicable standard revision, then separates type testing, incoming checks, process inspection and shipment sampling. Laboratory reports link to factory lot numbers, while calibration status and retention period enter the quality plan. A complaint can then trace a finished identifier to kiln run, body and glaze lots and release record.

05 · Shunmei and Jiamei Listed Together Do Not Form Joint Production

Two company entries point to separate entities and capabilities, not a shared order.

The Shunmei project in Dehua County information and Jiamei's website lead to independent companies. Even when comparing similar tableware, a buyer manages body and glaze formula, mould, kiln run, test report and sealed sample by supplier. A common Dehua origin creates no shared line, reciprocal production, joint quotation or customer-data link.

A buyer may approach both firms for comparison, supply diversification or allocation by product form; that is the buyer’s sourcing strategy. If tooling or artwork moves from one to the other, ownership, confidentiality, dimensional datum and prior changes require fresh confirmation. Unauthorised file transfer can turn a delivery issue into an intellectual-property dispute.

Supplier files separately retain the contracting entity, payment account, production address, quality contact and design permissions for Shunmei and Jiamei. Each uses independent sample identifiers and change records, and acceptance results do not transfer across entities. A genuine reassignment needs written agreement on tooling, inventory and the responsibility switch.

06 · Huamao’s Digital Workshop Should Be Measured by Kiln-Run Results

Equipment and systems change delivery only when they connect recipes, curves and defects.

The Fujian industry authority records Huamao Ceramics’ legal name and digital-workshop capability in Dehua, while regional information separately states that Dehua products reach more than 190 countries and regions. The company case describes one manufacturing setting and export reach covers the industry. They cannot be combined into Huamao’s market count or sales scale.

The hard part of ceramics digitalisation is not storing an order number but linking formula revision, mould, glazing setting, kiln position, temperature profile and defect code to one run. Without lot records for manual finishing or decoration, a system may still miss the origin of colour or distortion. An overseas return cannot be diagnosed from dispatch time alone.

An assessment of the Huamao capability uses orders with similar form, glaze colour and volume to compare changeover time, unit energy, first-pass yield and trace time. A random finished carton is traced to body, glaze, mould, kiln run, visual grade and packing operator. A data gap is logged rather than overwritten by a later passing result.

07 · Colour, Migration and Breakage Belong to Three Different Risk Chains

One certificate cannot explain formulation, firing and transport together.

Specialised-cluster recognition shows a professional ceramics concentration in Dehua, while GB/T 3532-2022 supplies the national-standard basis for domestic porcelain quality. An actual order can still encounter lot colour variation, distortion, lead or cadmium migration, glaze defects and fragile logistics. Cluster status does not reduce those product and delivery risks.

Colour variation may arise from body or glaze lot, kiln position or temperature; migration concerns materials and decoration; breakage calls for checks on form, inserts, cartons and handling shocks. The three exceptions need different containment and correction. Treating every complaint as general porcelain quality can freeze unrelated stock and miss the responsible step.

A colour complaint compares the sealed sample, viewing light and grades from the same kiln; a migration concern resamples the relevant contact surface and decoration; transit damage retains carton, insert, photographs and logistics node. The quality agreement sets separate stop-ship thresholds, retest methods, customer notice and cost allocation. Cause and corrected lots remain recorded after closure.

08 · A Custom Short Run Should Pass One Kiln and One Shipment First

Design, production and packing are tested together in a controlled order.

The Dehua industry record provides firm scale, partial-period output and export reach, while the Shunmei project record and Huamao digital-workshop case point to two distinct company settings. These facts help identify candidates and context. They do not prove that either firm suits a custom order or establish a business relationship between them.

Custom work for contemporary homes, hospitality or cultural gifts often changes form, glaze colour, artwork, quantity and carton specification together. A handmade sample does not prove moulded production repeatability, and a sound piece after firing may still fail a long shipment. Skipping process and packing trials on the first lot magnifies rework and replenishment pressure.

The project begins with a small quantity for real use and completes design-right confirmation, refired first articles, applicable tests, package-drop testing and destination-label checks. Arrival review records colour grades, breakage, installation or use feedback and promised timing. Quantity grows only after consecutive lots reproduce the sample and exceptions close on schedule.
