Nantong home textiles and bedding

Nantong’s home-textile industry exceeded RMB 240 billion in 2024, with nearly 90,000 market entities, more than 4,000 finished-goods manufacturers and over 50,000 e-commerce firms in the park network. These are industry-wide measures rather than results for a market, brand or product type.

Formation and regional foundations

Specialised markets at Dieshiqiao and Chuanjiang connected weaving, dyeing, sewing, accessories and wholesale trade. Brand R&D, sleep products and e-commerce logistics extended the network to the development zone and Rugao, while collective marks, copyright services and online quality supervision shape how new goods reach buyers.

Nantong home textiles use the Dieshiqiao and Chuanjiang markets as a trading and production hinterland connecting fabric, dyeing, sewing, filling, packaging, brands, e-commerce and logistics. Industry scale above RMB 240 billion in 2024 shows network breadth but cannot answer material, workmanship or service questions for a quilt, bedding set or brand.

Core geography: Dieshiqiao, Chuanjiang, Nantong development zone and Rugao home-textile network

Market, production, brand and logistics nodes in Nantong home textiles

How Dieshiqiao and Chuanjiang connect the development zone and Rugao

Nodes indicate regional functions rather than fixed purchasing or common operation. Orders, lots and transport establish actual flows among markets, plants and warehouses.

  • Haimen Dieshiqiao market — Dieshiqiao in Haimen concentrates finished-goods trade, supplier display and cross-border channels as a market rather than one company.
  • Tongzhou Chuanjiang and Zhihao production — Chuanjiang and Zhihao in Tongzhou connect fabrics, accessories, sewing and finished production with firm-specific processes.
  • Development-zone brand R&D — The Nantong development zone contains brand R&D and management nodes, while headquarters need not perform all production.
  • Rugao sleep products — The Rugao node covers sleep products, materials and mattress production with a different product structure from conventional bedding.
  • Design, rights and quality services — Design, copyright and quality services support pattern protection and testing without assuming company quality duties.
  • E-commerce, livestreaming and logistics — E-commerce, live streaming, warehousing and logistics distribute small orders while amplifying stock, return and mis-shipment risks.

01 · Dieshiqiao and Chuanjiang form a two-market hinterland

Trade, production and services connect across two areas without one operator.

Nantong’s home-textile industry exceeded RMB 240 billion in 2024, with two major markets connecting materials, design, production, wholesale and exports. The total spans many products and entities. It is not revenue for Luolai, Violet or Mlily.

An industry profile gives nearly 90,000 market entities, over 4,000 finished-goods producers and more than 50,000 e-commerce firms. The groups may use different business roles and cannot be added as independent entities. One operator may manufacture and run online stores.

Dieshiqiao emphasises market trade and channels, while Chuanjiang and Zhihao connect fabrics, accessories and production. Orders can move across nodes, but labels, contracts and dispatch addresses identify the plant. A stall location is not a production site.

  • Industry scale describes the network rather than every trader and factory.

02 · A bedding set begins with fabric specification

Fibre, weaving, finishing, cutting and sewing jointly affect feel and durability.

Product development begins with fibre composition, yarn count, density, weave, width and weight. Cotton, synthetics and blends differ in shrinkage, pilling and care. Fabric purchasing also controls colour code and dye lot.

Dyeing and finishing determine colour, softness, function and residual-chemical risk. A hand-feel sample cannot replace colourfastness, dimensional-change and chemical-safety tests. Production approval uses actual fabric, process and care conditions.

Cutting and sewing control pattern alignment, dimensions, stitch density, edges, zips and fasteners. Fitted sheets, duvet covers and pillowcases carry stress at different points. Inspection follows product construction rather than front appearance alone.

  • Claims such as high count or skin-friendly need measurable parameters.

03 · Fillings and accessories determine the other half of performance

Down, fibre, latex and foam face different labelling and use issues.

Quilt filling may use down, polyester, silk or other materials, each with different content, cleanliness and warmth measures. Shell fabric also controls leakage and breathability. Loft alone cannot identify actual composition.

Mattresses and pillows may combine springs, foam, latex, textiles and adhesives. Odour, resilience, firmness and durability interact. The sleep-product route associated with Mlily therefore cannot use ordinary sheet tests as substitutes.

Zips, buttons, elastic, labels and packaging appear secondary but can cause breakage, scratches, mislabelling and moisture damage. The bill of materials assigns a supplier and version to each. Finished-product changes trigger compatibility and care reassessment.

  • Material name, content, weight and origin must match the finished item.

04 · Consumers see labels first and durability later

Online-product sampling highlights labels, filling and producer identity for goods such as down quilts.

Market supervision of online goods including down quilts highlights risks in labelling, filling and producer identity. Consumers cannot verify internal material from images. Product listings, permanent labels and inspection lots must remain aligned.

Bedding quality also covers colourfastness, shrinkage, pilling, strength, sewing and odour. One laboratory pass does not cover other colours, sizes or later supply lots. Higher-risk material or process changes require added validation.

Consumer complaints separate size interpretation, improper care, material issues and manufacturing defects. Service records order model, lot, photographs and washing conditions. Repeated issues trigger inventory hold and supplier investigation together.

  • Listing, tag, packaging and tested sample must describe the same product.

05 · Original patterns enter flexible production

Collective marks, copyright services and digital processes protect and produce designs.

The Nantong Home Textiles collective graphic mark creates a regional-brand and intellectual-property route. It does not replace company marks, pattern copyright or product-quality duties. Users must meet applicable rules and retain authorisation.

An original pattern moves through artwork, colour card, separation files and printing or jacquard production under version control. Customer and internal changes retain time and approval. File mixing can cause infringement, wrong colour and rework.

Flexible replenishment coordinates small-lot scheduling, fabric stock and fast changeover. Digital systems can link orders with cutting but still need physical colour and loss checks. One pattern in two sizes can test replenishment before the assortment grows.

  • Originality and production documents connect artwork to finished goods.

06 · Markets, brand stores and live streams sell differently

Channels alter packaging, inventory and returns without changing basic quality.

Dieshiqiao and Chuanjiang markets serve wholesale, sourcing and assortment, while brand stores emphasise collections, experience and service. Minimum quantities, credit and return terms differ. Buyers should state brand authorisation and producer in contracts.

Luolai operates through brand R&D, production and several sales channels, while Violet has a Tongzhou bedding R&D and manufacturing context. Channel breadth does not mean every item comes from one plant. Model, label and dispatch entity determine responsibility.

Live commerce can test colours and styles quickly while creating demand spikes and returns. Warehouses synchronise available stock, gifts, sizes and promised timing. Campaign review includes platform fees, refunds, service and repacking cost.

  • The same-looking item needs model, configuration and service checks by channel.

07 · Copyright, environment and inventory are different risks

Product compliance does not cover design rights, manufacturing emissions and obsolete stock.

Copyright risk begins with patterns, photography and copy, with authorisation covering product, territory, channel and term. Similar designs receive search and internal review before commercial use. Traceable creation files are more useful than oral explanations in a dispute.

Greener production involves dyeing water, energy, chemicals, packaging and waste rather than a natural-fibre label alone. Outsourced finishing remains within supply-chain environmental control. Measures per conforming product separate improvement from lower volume.

Inventory risk grows with excessive colour, size and seasonal combinations, while live-stream returns alter saleable condition. Warehouses separate new, returned, defective and pending goods. Flexible replenishment chooses lot size from actual turnover and stockout cost.

  • Risk ownership belongs separately to design, plant and channel teams.

08 · Run a real trial around the sleep setting

Comfort, care, durability and delivery require product and use validation.

A hotel or retail project first defines bed type, room climate, cleaning, rotation and target life. Samples use production fabric, filling and sewing. Soft initial feel alone cannot predict dimensions and appearance after repeated care.

Luolai, Violet and Mlily provide different routes through branded bedding, Tongzhou manufacturing and sleep products. The counterpart must match product category and contracting entity. Mattress tests and transport cannot simply copy those for a bedding set.

The trial records washes, shrinkage, pilling, filling migration, odour, damage and complaints, while fulfilment records errors and package damage. Causes are assigned to material, process, care or logistics. Colours, sizes or stores expand after consecutive lots meet targets.

  • Validate one room or order lot before expanding a range.
