Lianyuan roadbed-construction machinery

Roadbed quality comes from grading, mixing, paving and compaction equipment working within one material window. Lianyuan combines complete machines with structures and coating support. Autonomous and electric machines add control and charging questions without removing moisture or pass-count fundamentals.

Formation and regional foundations

Sany engineering machinery in Lianyuan drew local structures, tooling and component firms around it, while roadbed equipment expanded toward electrification and digital construction. Public project and supplier lists explain regional roles but not the soil or duty suitable for a specific model.

Roadbed quality is not produced by one roller. Earthwork grading, stabilised-soil mixing, lift thickness and moisture pass conditions to compaction. Lianyuan centres on Sany complete machines with surrounding structure and component suppliers, while electrification and autonomy add energy and data to construction organisation.

Core geography: A Lianyuan equipment cluster in Loudi High-tech Zone combining rollers, grading and paving coordination, structural parts, electric drive, construction data and maintenance

Six construction interfaces from borrow soil to density handover

How the machine train holds rhythm inside the material window

Nodes show equipment-process coordination and do not prescribe one fleet for every project. Soil, weather and design determine the actual combination.

  • Soil and moisture window — Size, plasticity and water determine the method.
  • Grading and mixing — Graders and stabilisers form a uniform base.
  • Paving thickness — Loose lift reaches compaction with continuous width and level.
  • Vibration and rolling — Machine, frequency, amplitude, speed and passes act together.
  • Density and trajectory — Sampling and construction data judge uniformity.
  • Energy and maintenance — Charging, fuel, wear parts and response sustain the fleet.

01 · Material state decides the fleet, not the reverse

Size, plasticity and moisture first create the work window.

Roadbed material may be soil, aggregate or stabilised mix, and grading, plasticity and moisture determine grading and compaction. The same roller behaves differently on dry gravel, wet clay and cement-stabilised layers. Lianyuan equipment can cover several operations, but a project should not choose a machine and force material to fit; material investigation comes first.

Using only laboratory optimum moisture ignores rapid changes during hauling, paving and weather. Dry material may not rearrange effectively under vibration, while wet material can pump, shove or stick to drums. Extra passes do not always recover the condition and can damage formed structure. Fleet selection needs the ability to add water, aerate and wait as part of construction.

Before work, sample sections for grading, moisture and relevant engineering properties, using a trial strip to compare grading, loose thickness and rolling combinations. During production, recheck water after mixing, before paving and during rolling; material outside the window is treated rather than assigned to the roller. Weather changes shorten the interval, and each adjustment remains tied to its road segment. Stockpile cover, drainage and turning areas belong on the site plan, allowing dispatch to stop loads from one rain-wetted pile instead of spreading wet material across a whole section.

  • Choose grading and compaction equipment only after the material window is clear

02 · Grading and stabilisation build a uniform foundation

Level, crossfall and mixing depth must close before paving.

Graders control formation level, crossfall and uniformity, while stabilisers mix binder and material to the designed depth. Blade angle, travel speed, mixing rotor and water system shape the result, and an even surface can still hide unmixed zones. Paving later covers these issues, so grading and mixing need independent checks. Material cut from a high spot and windrowed at the edge changes transverse grading and drainage, while insufficient stabiliser mixing depth leaves a distinct layered core.

Increasing one-pass width or speed for daily output can lose overlap and depth, while repeated grader finishing segregates coarse and fine fractions. Binder also has a limited interval from spreading to completed compaction, and machine waiting consumes it. Fleet capacity should follow the slowest operation instead of allowing one high-output machine to create work the rest cannot finish.

The trial section calibrates blade, mixing depth, speed and overlap, with cross-sections opened for uniformity and thickness. Setting-out uses one level datum, and machine paths correspond to inspection points; material after an excessive stop receives separate assessment. Survey and quality jointly confirm level, crossfall and mix condition before releasing the surface to the next fleet.

  • Actual grading and mixing depth must be visible before paving

03 · Paving thickness passes the material window to the roller

Loose uniformity, segregation and waiting affect later density.

A paver or dozer-grader combination forms a continuous loose lift whose thickness and level determine the compacted structure. Truck discharge and material distribution can segregate coarse and fine particles, while edges and joints become thin. A roller can rearrange material within the lift but cannot replace missing particles or repair severe segregation. Residence through hopper, auger and screed can create temperature or grading differences, and steady truck arrival preserves a uniform mat better than a temporary increase in paving speed.

Concentrated truck discharge to avoid paver stops can create local temperature, moisture or size differences, while a loose lift waiting too long develops surface-to-core moisture variation. Using rolling passes to correct thickness may reach density but miss design level. Paving and compaction rhythms must share supply, weather and machine state rather than maximise separate speeds.

Measure loose thickness, level and transverse distribution continuously, adding checks at edges, joints and stops. Hauling and paving maintain steady feed, and segregated material is replaced or remixed before rolling. Each section records the interval from paving to the first pass; material beyond its permitted window is reassessed rather than hidden by additional passes.

  • Loose-lift thickness, uniformity and waiting time enter compaction together

04 · Compaction energy combines machine, frequency, amplitude, speed and passes

Heavier machines or more passes do not always mean greater density.

Static steel, vibration and pneumatic kneading act on material differently, while frequency, amplitude, travel speed and lift thickness set energy transfer. Coarse material may respond to vibration, and cohesive soil may rely more on static or kneading combinations. Machine weight is one parameter; the value of a Lianyuan roller appears only in a defined soil and production rhythm. Drum frequency and travel speed set impacts per metre, with abrupt energy change at turns or stops; edges and structures also require a different compaction path.

Continuing high-amplitude rolling after a lift approaches its density ceiling can crush aggregate or loosen the surface. Excess speed reduces impacts at each point, while very low speed creates waves and poor productivity. A few passing samples can miss turns, edges and inadequate overlap. The compaction plan needs average result, spatial uniformity and material damage together. Continuing heavy vibration on an already dense thin layer can crush aggregate or disturb the support beneath, so a rising surface response does not prove continued structural improvement.

The trial strip compares machine, frequency-amplitude, speed and passes, measuring density and settlement after each pass to find diminishing return. Production sets rolling sequence, overlap and turning rules and keeps trajectories with sample locations. After weather or material change, the first section is checked again; an abnormal area receives moisture and thickness review before more rolling or rework.

  • Rolling parameters should be set by pass-by-pass gain on the trial strip

05 · Battery-electric equipment brings charging and thermal management into planning

Zero local exhaust still faces range, power and environment.

A battery-electric roller replaces the engine and part of the hydraulic path with battery and electric drive, reducing local noise and exhaust while offering direct control. Available energy changes with temperature, ageing and high-power demand, and simultaneous vibration plus travel is not constant load. Lianyuan already has an autonomous electric roller, while project fit still depends on shift and charging conditions.

Dividing rated energy by average power misses hills, soft ground and high-amplitude peaks and omits climate, lights and standby. A distant charger makes travel and queue time erase equipment productivity. Fast charging improves turnaround while trading grid capacity, heat and battery life, so the question cannot wait until machines arrive. When several machines share a temporary charger, queue time enters the paving and rolling window, so power, fleet sequence and standby equipment require joint daily scheduling.

Measure travel, vibration, waiting and relocation energy through a representative construction cycle, adding hot, cold and ageing reserve before mid-shift and overnight charging are scheduled. Temporary power, chargers, weather protection and fire measures enter the site plan, with battery temperature and state informing dispatch. When power limits occur, duty data separates battery, thermal management and ground resistance before the fleet changes.

  • An electric fleet plan must include real energy, charging and derating

06 · Autonomy must first resolve people-route conflict

Positioning, perception and takeover form the safety system.

An autonomous roller can hold planned path, speed, overlap and passes and connect production data with location. A jobsite still changes through haul trucks, surveyors, slopes and temporary obstacles, while satellite and communication signals may be blocked. Automation works only with a defined zone, personnel separation and fail-safe stopping rather than a direct transfer of road-driving logic.

A high-definition map not updated for daily boundaries can lead toward a new trench or stockpile, while overly sensitive detection causes repeated stops and tempts crews to bypass protection. Remote takeover with uncertain latency cannot replace site safety. Autonomous efficiency comes from jointly designed work organisation and equipment rather than one fewer driver. When an unmanned machine approaches surveyors, haul trucks or a temporary excavation, the site change must enter route permission first; onboard detection does not replace explicit separation.

Before each shift, confirm geofence, routes, turn areas and pedestrian paths, using visible segregation between machines and people. Positioning or communication degradation triggers a defined speed or stop response, and manual takeover is exercised regularly. Anomaly logs include location, perception state, software and site change; revised routes are retested in a low-risk area before normal autonomous rhythm resumes.

  • Autonomous safety comes from updated work zones and verified takeover

07 · Structures and components turn machine capability into hardware

Welded datums, surfaces and assembly feedback need closure.

A roller frame, drum, cab and working systems combine structures and components. Weld distortion changes bearing or connection datums, while surface treatment affects corrosion and assembly. Lianyuan companies such as Zhongsheng and Jinxin supply structures and components, extending the local chain beyond final assembly. Their capability still belongs to specific drawings and installation results.

A late hole or load change can invalidate supplier fixtures and weld sequence, while a supplier’s undocumented fit correction separates drawing from hardware. Individual dimensions may pass while assembly stack and operating vibration fail. Regional proximity shortens feedback but does not replace controlled change, first-piece approval and production capability management.

The machine builder releases revision-controlled models and critical features, while suppliers measure datums after fixturing, welding and machining. A first article enters real assembly and necessary load or vibration checks before the process freezes. Production variation and field failure return by part, lot and machine; design change updates drawing, gauge and inventory disposition together.

  • Supplier parts need one revision connecting drawing, fixture and machine feedback

08 · Density data must return to location and construction action

Sampling, trajectory and maintenance improve the next section together.

Roadbed acceptance commonly uses density, level and smoothness at defined locations, while intelligent compaction records machine position, passes and response measures. The scales differ: sampling gives sparse actual points, and machine data covers continuous paths but needs field calibration. Together they reveal missed areas, turns and material changes, without replacing required tests with a screen value. Short work areas behind an abutment or above a utility trench interrupt normal paths and require space-appropriate equipment plus separate confirmation points.

Chasing one display colour everywhere can drive repeated rolling over a segment with different material, while passing samples may avoid edges and joints. Sensor drift, drum wear and tyre pressure also change response. Interpretation needs soil, moisture, machine and maintenance state so correlation is not presented as absolute density. Replacing a drum bushing, tyre or sensor can shift the response baseline, so the project rechecks a known section rather than joining before-and-after colour maps directly.

On the trial strip, pair required test points with machine response and establish a relationship for the current material and model with an uncertainty range. Construction maps overlay trajectory, speed, vibration, moisture and samples, and field review decides rerolling, replacement or rework. Shift data schedules machine maintenance and the next route, and the project closes with located quality records. Before handover, edges, joints and stop bands receive a separate overlay review because continuous trajectories most easily lose coverage across these short areas.

  • Continuous machine data must be calibrated by field tests before quality judgement
