Jilin Civil Carbon-fiber Products

Jilin City connects acrylonitrile, precursor, carbon fibre, textiles and composite products in one materials chain. Precursor and fibre are delivered by tow, strength, modulus and sizing, while civilian products add textile architecture, resin compatibility and moulding defects. City output and park area describe the base but cannot replace product specifications.

Formation and regional foundations

Jilin City produced 108,000 tonnes of carbon fibre in 2024, down 3.2 per cent year on year. The economic zone has 301,900 square metres of completed factory space and a planned 3.03-square-kilometre low-carbon products park. Output, annual change, existing buildings and planned land describe different dimensions.

Jilin City's advantage extends beyond fibre output into precursor, textiles and composite products. Wind energy, sporting goods, pressure vessels and woven composites place different demands on fibre. Supplier capability is clearer when tow, sizing, textile architecture, resin and moulding lot are checked in sequence.

01 · What 108,000 Tonnes Represents

Can city output establish supply of one civilian product?

Municipal statistics put Jilin's 2024 carbon-fibre output at 108,000 tonnes, 3.2 per cent below the previous year. The economic zone separately reports 301,900 square metres of completed factory space, while a 3.03-square-kilometre low-carbon products park remains planned land; one is an existing building stock and the other future space. Annual output, floor area and planned land cannot be combined as capacity and do not identify the tow or composite formats currently available for purchase.

The 108,000 tonnes is Jilin City's carbon-fibre output, not precursor capacity at Carbon Valley or saleable volume at Guoxing Carbon Fiber. The 3.2 per cent decline describes year-on-year municipal output and cannot reveal yield on one line. A March 2024 provincial production-line account adds site and value-chain context, while company grades, operating load and composite delivery still require current evidence for each entity.

An initial engagement should first identify whether the requirement is precursor, carbon fibre, fabric or a moulded part. A precursor request covers package, linear density and defects; fibre adds tow size, strength, modulus and sizing; fabric or a component adds resin, architecture and cure conditions. Municipal output and annual change remain industry context, while each company must separately confirm a suitable grade, sample and delivery date.

  • City output covers carbon fibre overall and cannot be allocated directly to a grade, company or end component.

02 · Precursor Sets the Starting Point for Fibre

How do upstream variations affect strength and broken filaments?

Polyacrylonitrile solution is spun into precursor, which then passes through stabilisation, carbonisation, surface treatment and sizing to become carbon fibre. Downstream spreading or weaving, resin impregnation and cure produce a composite part. A March 2024 provincial account shows precursor entering a carbonisation line, while a municipal development-authority record adds a woven-composite project; the 3.2 per cent citywide output decline says nothing about either individual line.

Precursor uniformity affects stabilisation and carbonisation, but precursor scale does not reveal fibre yield. Guoxing Composites may also qualify another fibre source, sizing system or resin process, so downstream release does not follow automatically from upstream output. A March 2024 municipal development-authority record supports the adjacent woven-composite stage; orders, lot identities and test results are still needed to establish an actual material transfer.

Map the Jilin material flow from polyacrylonitrile precursor through stabilisation and carbonisation, surface treatment and sizing, and then weaving and composite moulding. Record package and linear density at the precursor step, inspection and packing at the fibre step, and the resin system plus trim disposal at the composite step. A provincial account dated 11 March 2024 shows precursor entering a carbonisation line, while the woven project appears in a development-authority document. Every flow revision needs a date and applicable unit; companies occupying the same value chain are not necessarily trading with one another.

  • Precursor uniformity, drawing and defect control can amplify or contain variation through oxidation and carbonisation.

03 · Existing Buildings and Planned Park Land

Can 301,900 square metres and 3.03 square kilometres be combined?

Production lines, weaving projects and composite applications in the Jilin economic zone show a spatial division along the materials chain. The 301,900 square metres refers to completed factory buildings, while 3.03 square kilometres describes a planned low-carbon products park; their status and area units differ. Development-authority, statistical and provincial accounts locate particular projects but do not allocate buildings among firms or state utility capacity and entry conditions at each site.

Precursor, carbonisation and composite moulding impose different demands on solvent recovery, inert atmosphere, energy, roads and fire protection, so a shared economic zone does not make their interfaces interchangeable. Completed floor area is not automatically available or connectable space, and planned park land cannot be converted into line count. A company siting or expansion decision still needs the particular plot, tenure, utility headroom, permit status and term of use.

A Jilin carbon-fibre review should trace precursor lots and polymerisation conditions at Carbon Valley, tow specification and carbonisation logistics at Guoxing Carbon Fiber, then resin systems, curing and scrap treatment at Guoxing Composite Materials. Similar names and close locations do not create an internal material flow. Purchase orders, test values and lot numbers must connect precursor, fibre and composite.

  • One figure describes completed buildings and the other planned land; both status and area unit differ.

04 · Accepted Fibre Does Not Guarantee an Accepted Part

Which defects emerge only after composite moulding?

Tow size, strength, modulus, sizing and resin compatibility determine whether carbon fibre fits an application. Precursor quality covers titre, broken filaments and uniformity. Carbon fibre adds tensile strength, modulus, linear density and sizing. Fabrics add areal weight and defects. Composites add resin content, voids and cure history. Polymer-solvent recovery, stabilisation and carbonisation energy, off-gas treatment, sizing water, fibre waste and composite recycling act at different steps. A low-carbon park name does not prove each outcome. The 3.03 square kilometres cited by Jilin City Statistics Bureau on 31 July 2025 is a planned park area, not completed line capacity. It also says nothing about a tow's strength, sizing, or compatibility with a chosen resin.

Precursor acceptance covers linear density, uniformity, broken filaments and finish. Carbon fibre adds strength, modulus, elongation and sizing, while fabrics and composite parts add areal weight, resin content, voids and cure state. Samples and tests from different stages are not interchangeable, and city output cannot show that a tow has passed application qualification. The 3.03-square-kilometre figure describes planned park land and has no bearing on material performance.

The Carbon Valley precursor request should state tow, linear density, package and defect limits. The Guoxing Carbon Fiber specification adds strength, modulus, sizing content, sampling and retest, while the Guoxing Composites document defines textile architecture, resin system, cure and finished-part inspection. Certificates and samples from all three need lot identities so that upstream material can be followed into downstream trials rather than replaced by park or city figures.

  • Resin wet-out, lay-up, cure and voids alter composite performance and require product-level validation.

05 · Jilin Carbon Valley's Precursor Role

How should target fibre be described when buying precursor?

Municipal information places Jilin Carbon Valley Carbon Fiber at the polyacrylonitrile-precursor stage. Reports dated 8 November and 11 March 2024 connect precursor spinning with a downstream carbon-fibre line and show why uniformity matters, but disclose no currently available tow specification, finish, qualified downstream route, volume or delivery programme. A sample request should also state the intended carbonisation route and resin system.

Precursor capacity is not carbon-fibre output. Titre uniformity, finish, and compatibility with stabilisation and carbonisation profiles require joint validation downstream. The municipal response from November 2024 names Jilin Carbon Valley and describes the full chain, while the provincial report from March 2024 adds context about group carbonisation lines. Those sources use different scopes: the city's 108,000-tonne fibre output cannot be assigned to Carbon Valley's precursor business, and a group-level line description cannot replace the company's answer on current tow, lot volume or customer qualification.

A precursor enquiry to Carbon Valley should identify the target tow, downstream stabilisation and carbonisation equipment, package form and resin system. Technical discussion can then cover linear-density variation, broken-filament control, finish, joining rules, retained samples and trial length, supported by representative lot data. If the downstream line has not qualified that precursor, agree a small spinning trial and evaluation criteria before discussing annual volume. The municipal response identifies the company, while Carbon Valley must confirm current grades, sample conditions and delivery timing item by item.

  • Tow size, linear density, defect level and downstream carbonisation conditions need joint discussion.

06 · Guoxing Carbon Fiber's Delivery Parameters

What should be checked beyond the fibre grade?

Jilin Guoxing Carbon Fiber is associated with carbon-fibre production and performance development, and a provincial visit places it on an operating-line context. The Jilin municipal response places Guoxing Carbon Fiber at the fibre-production step, and the energy assessment for downstream weaving shows a possible further-processing route. Together they outline the chain position but publish no current tow sizes, sizing formulation, operating load or customer availability.

One visit shows a line's condition on that date, not sustained load or reliable supply. Current strength class, tow size, sizing formulation and lot dispersion still require recent technical data. City fibre output cannot be allocated to Guoxing, and the design capacity of a weaving project does not mean that an equal fibre volume has been purchased or reserved; upstream and downstream quantities need separate checks.

Representative Guoxing Carbon Fiber lots should include strength, modulus, elongation, linear density, sizing content and distributions, together with the test standard, sampling location and sample count. The target resin then supports interface and process trials covering unwinding, broken filaments, wet-out and cure behaviour. Annual tow volume, lot rhythm and change notice are discussed only after both material data and application trials meet the requirement.

  • Strength, modulus, elongation, sizing and lot variation jointly determine material fit.

07 · Guoxing Composites' Textile and Moulding Work

How does textile architecture enter composite design?

A Jilin development-authority energy-review opinion covers Jilin Guoxing Composite Materials' proposed 10,000-tonne woven carbon-fibre project, locating the company at the textile and composite-product stage. The annual tonnage is a design measure, while municipal statistics provide broader manufacturing context. Neither shows that the project has reached output, nor do they disclose product mix, commercial-line status or the widths and formats currently accepted for orders.

Project annual scale is a design measure rather than attained output. Fabric, prepreg and moulded components use different equipment, resin systems, storage conditions and acceptance methods, so project tonnage cannot be assigned to any one product. Check loom width, weave and areal weight, resin compatibility, void and cure control and whether the commercial line has completed commissioning. A citywide full-chain description cannot replace these engineering data.

Questions for Guoxing Composites can cover commissioning milestones, weave and areal weight, resin system, void control, cure cycle, coupon method and currently feasible formats. After sending the target component or lay-up, request fabric, resin information, a process window and a mechanical-coupon plan, and identify whether samples come from a pilot or commercial line. On site, follow fibre-lot identity through weaving, impregnation and cure, then agree moulds, tooling, first-article review, storage and transport and the treatment of quality deviations.

  • Weave, areal weight, resin system and cure route need matching to component loads.

08 · Using One Test Panel to Link Material and Process

How can first validation reduce grade and process mismatch?

A Jilin enquiry should centre on tow, performance grade, composite process and qualification progress. Purchasing must distinguish precursor, carbon fibre, fabric, prepreg and finished part and state tow size, performance class, sizing, resin compatibility, lot qualification and storage conditions. A visit can follow spinning, stabilisation, carbonisation, surface treatment, sizing, weaving and composite moulding, with questions on mechanical sampling and line changeovers. Jilin City's 2025 support measures explain available policy tools, and the provincial production-line report locates parts of the manufacturing route. Neither policy strength nor city output shows that a given tow or composite machine has an open slot today.

Begin a Jilin enquiry by deciding whether it concerns precursor, carbon fibre or composites. Give Carbon Valley the tow and package requirement, Guoxing Carbon Fiber the carbonisation and surface-treatment conditions, and Guoxing Composite Materials the resin system and service environment. Their answers become comparable only after those distinctions are clear. The provincial report from 2024-03-11 provides production-line context, whereas the 3.03-square-kilometre products-park figure belongs to the municipal response. Neither source establishes cooperation volume or an existing supply relationship among the three companies.

One target composite specification can connect the three discussions: Carbon Valley describes precursor and packaging, Guoxing Carbon Fiber supplies post-carbonisation mechanical data and sizing, and Guoxing Composite Materials judges whether its fabric or component process is compatible. Record lot identity, sample quantity, test method and responsible person at every transfer so precursor data is not mistaken for finished-part performance. Before a trial, confirm equipment time, mould or tooling, resin supply and test cost. Municipal support policy can open a consultation route but cannot replace those engineering conditions.

  • A test panel should record fibre lot, resin lot, lay-up, cure cycle and final test results.
