Jiashan optoelectronic devices

Optical-module loss drift, fibre attenuation and touch opens all appear optoelectronic but arise from different materials and processes. Credible content separately traces preform and drawing, optical coupling and packaging, and glass-sensor lamination rather than sharing one yield claim.

Formation and regional foundations

Futong fibre, Cambridge optical modules and access equipment, and Henghao touch panels create adjacent but distinct routes in Jiashan. Parks may share logistics and talent, but fibre kilometres, module rates and touch sizes cannot become one capacity figure.

Fibre carries light, a module converts between electricity and light, and a touch panel converts position into an electrical signal. Jiashan places the routes nearby; responsible content separates them and explains collaboration only at real interfaces.

Core geography: Centred on Jiashan Economic Development Zone, the China-Singapore Jiashan park and Weitang manufacturing areas, covering optical fibre and cable, high-speed optical modules and components, touch and display parts. The full IC industry, smart-device assembly and general electronics are excluded.

Three manufacturing routes from optical material to device reliability

Six nodes across material, forming, coupling, lamination, test and feedback

The routes share cleanliness, precision and reliability discipline, not one performance unit.

  • Glass and optical materials — Preforms, cover glass, adhesives and optical chips enter by lot.
  • Drawing and fibre — Diameter, coating, attenuation and proof test form fibre lots.
  • Coupling and packaging — Laser, lens, fibre core and circuit align at micrometre scale.
  • Sensor and lamination — Cover, touch sensor, display module and adhesive laminate cleanly.
  • Optoelectronic and reliability test — Attenuation, errors, insertion loss, touch linearity and environment are judged separately.
  • Serial and field feedback — Module, fibre reel and panel serials reconnect to material and process.

01 · Identify the product class first

Wavelength, rate and size are different parameters.

Fibre states class, wavelength, attenuation and geometry; modules state rate, reach, wavelength and package; touch panels state structure, size, interface and display combination.

The routes do not share a capacity unit. Investment, permitted plan and actual output each state date and status.

Customer drawings, standards and certification match at order review. A group catalogue does not prove every model is produced by the Jiashan entity.

02 · Fibre starts with the preform profile

Transparency does not mean a uniform index.

Preforms retain lot, index profile, bubbles, impurities and position. Similar-looking segments do not merge lots.

Drawing records furnace, speed, diameter and coating cure, linking variation to reel. A break and restart cannot hide lot boundaries.

Finished fibre separately measures geometry, attenuation, dispersion and proof strength; wavelength, reel length and calibration stay with the report.

03 · Module loss often hides in alignment

A passing optical chip does not guarantee a passing package.

Lasers, detectors, lenses, isolators and fibre arrays prepare by lot and orientation, with end-face cleanliness and ESD checked before coupling.

Active alignment records position, power, cure shrinkage and adhesive, then retests after cure. Software thresholds cannot repair physical shift.

Lid, welding and potting control particles, heat and seal. Rework count enters serial history because reheating can change optical path and joints.

04 · Touch lamination first controls glass and adhesive

One particle affects appearance and electrical behaviour.

Cover glass checks thickness, warp, ink, holes and surface energy; sensors check opens, shorts and edge chips. Exposure is limited after cleaning.

Lamination records cleanliness, climate, adhesive lot, vacuum curve and pressure. Bubble location, size and rework bind to panel serial.

After combining display, sensor and controller, coordinate, linearity, edge and multitouch repeat. Component passes do not replace assembly test.

05 · Cleanliness targets differ

Fibre fears flaws, modules fear end faces, panels fear visible particles.

Fibre controls preform surface and coating flaws; module areas control optical ports and residue; touch areas also control large-area visible particles and scratches.

People, material and rework use separated flow and packaging; wipes are material-specific. More wiping can add scratches and fibres.

An environmental excursion isolates affected time-window product and assesses exposure rather than adding one passing point to a daily sheet.

06 · Optoelectronic tests must state conditions

Rate and loss are incomplete without wavelength and temperature.

Module transmit and receive tests record pattern, rate, wavelength, temperature, supply and port. Error and eye results match firmware.

Insertion and return loss first check patch cord, end face and reference zero. Reconnect variation is recorded; calibrated instruments do not replace uncertainty judgement.

Touch tests coordinate accuracy, linearity, response, multitouch and noise with finger, glove or water conditions stated. Display brightness does not represent touch performance.

07 · Reliability seeks drift, not only dead units

Heat, humidity, bending and mating act on different interfaces.

Fibre tests track attenuation change, coating and strength with bend radius and sample length. One reel does not cover different cable structures.

Modules retest power, errors and interface after thermal, humidity, vibration or mating stress, tracing failures to chip lot, coupling and package.

Touch panels after climate, drop, flex or chemicals check bubbles, delamination, circuits and coordinate drift. Passing appearance still needs electrical retest.

08 · Delivery closes by device serial

A field failure first identifies its manufacturing route.

Fibre delivers length, attenuation and tests by reel; modules deliver model, firmware and optoelectronic results by serial; panels deliver structure, lamination and function by lot and serial.

A permit states construction scope, an annual report states period status, and a product certificate states model. They do not substitute for one another.

For field loss, errors or touch opens, preserve end face, patterns, coordinates and environment, then trace serial to material and process. Optoelectronics is precise is not a conclusion.

Sources and reading notes

Cluster identity and project status use MIIT, Jiashan government and listed-company annual reports; fibre and module boundaries reference national or industry standards. Entity, address, product and control are cross-checked through sites, permits and statutory filings, separating plans from production.

  • The MIIT list confirms the national name of Jiashan’s optoelectronic-device cluster.
  • Jiashan government material records RMB 1.05 billion planned investment for the Cambridge base.
  • The planning permit names 11.6 million communication terminals annually; this is a planning figure.
  • The listed parent’s annual report confirms that the Jiashan plant entered production in 2025.
