Hengyang Salt-chemical Materials

Hengyang salt chemicals begin with rock salt and brine and connect salt making, chlor-alkali, hydrogen peroxide, sulphur chemistry, chlorinated intermediates and new materials. Sources separately use resource, park-output, company-count and chain-output measures; safety, environmental control and dangerous-goods logistics are core constraints beyond the products.

Formation and regional foundations

A 2026 Hunan government report states approximately 14 billion tonnes of underground rock-salt resources in Hengyang and RMB 16.8 billion of 2025 output in Songmu Economic Development Zone. A 2024 industry profile records 72 enterprises in 2023, while a 2025 official reply publishes RMB 13.573 billion of chain output for 2024. The four measures differ in place and year.

Hengyang’s salt-chemical chain starts with an estimated 14 billion tonnes of underground rock salt and extends through salt making, chlor-alkali and fine materials. The geological resource figure is distinct from RMB 13.573 billion of chain output in 2024 and Songmu zone’s RMB 16.8 billion output in 2025, which also differ in place and year. Kingboard (Hengyang) Industrial, Hunan Hengguang Chemical and Hengyang Jianheng Industrial show separate process positions; their inclusion does not establish fixed trade among them.

Hengyang Salt-chemical Materials Spatial Relationships

Hengyang rock salt, chlor-alkali and fine-chemical materials chain: Nodes and Interfaces

Hengyang rock-salt resource node and Dangerous-goods logistics and emergency node use relative positions rather than navigable distance. Within Hengyang Salt-chemical Materials, the Rock-salt brining to brine-purification process link expresses only its cited process relationship.

  • Hengyang rock-salt resource node — Underground resource is a geological measure; extraction and mine life require separate calculation.
  • Salt-making and brine-purification node — Brine extraction, evaporation, impurity removal and refining set chlor-alkali feed conditions.
  • Kingboard chlor-alkali materials node — Named products include caustic soda, liquid chlorine, hydrochloric acid, peroxide, PVC and epichlorohydrin.
  • Hengguang sulphur-chemistry node — Sulphuric acid, sulphites, sulphamic acid and hydrotalcite projects have different reaction and permit boundaries.
  • Jianheng inorganic-materials node — Jianheng’s public identity sits in the Songmu materials chain; current products require current documents.
  • Dangerous-goods logistics and emergency node — Liquid chlorine, acids, alkalis and oxidisers need distinct packaging, vehicles, tanks and emergency controls.

01 · Rock-salt Resource and Industry Scope

Geological resources, brining, salt making and chemical output require separate layers.

The approximately 14 billion tonnes in the Hunan government report is an underground rock-salt resource measure. It is not recoverable reserve, annual extraction or company inventory and does not state mining rights or recovery. Salt chemicals begin with brining and salt making, while the park also hosts material processes using sulphur, chlorine, hydrogen and other inputs. Resource volume is not economically recoverable reserve; mining rights, geology and brine quality still bound project feasibility.

Songmu Economic Development Zone is the principal carrier, but Hengyang resources, the chain and the park do not share an identical boundary. The park’s RMB 16.8 billion output for 2025 and the city chain’s RMB 13.573 billion for 2024 use different years and scopes. The larger former figure is not a one-year growth calculation and cannot derive output outside the park. Firms counted in the chain but outside the park still need separate location and physical logistics identification.

Project files should separate mineral resource, brine or industrial salt, basic chemicals, fine intermediates and functional materials as five layers. Each layer records contracting company, site, permit, unit and date. A source that only describes park concentration does not establish intercompany supply; contracts, tenders or bilateral disclosure are needed for a transaction link. The five layers prevent basic salt from blending with higher-value materials and show added process and safety needs at each step.

  • Rock-salt resources, brining capacity, salt output and chemical value describe different stages and cannot form one scale figure.

02 · Interpreting Enterprise and Output Measures

Seventy-two companies, RMB 13.573 billion and park output have different denominators.

The provincial industry profile records 72 enterprises and 2023 industrial output, a 2025 reply updates chain output for 2024, and a 2026 government article gives Songmu park output for 2025. Only the 72-company count enters the four selected measures; the earlier output remains source context and is not added to the later figures. Year comparisons first need chain names and inclusion rules because scope changes can exceed real production changes.

Company count can include organisations with different scale, products and operating status and cannot calculate average capacity. Chain output is not revenue, value added or tax and cannot be allocated to Kingboard, Hengguang or Jianheng. Year-on-year comparison needs confirmation of a consistent scope from the statistical publisher; otherwise figures remain side by side. Enterprise count marks a statistical set; idle, trial and trading organisations contribute differently to effective supply.

A financial model should carry the original label, year, geography and unit for an industry figure and mark it “not allocable.” Company revenue and output are accepted only from audited reports, statutory disclosure or company-stamped material. “Signed projects” and “expected output” in policy articles belong in a pipeline, not realised production. Valuation or share work must not allocate chain output evenly to sample firms; company data needs separate audited disclosure.

  • Company counts, industry value and park measures need their own denominators; averaging would invent plant-level figures.

03 · Brine Purification and Chlor-alkali Electrolysis

Brine quality, membrane cells, power and chlorine-hydrogen balance constrain operations.

Solution mining produces brine that requires calcium, magnesium, suspended-solid and other impurity removal before membrane electrolysis. The cell simultaneously generates caustic soda, chlorine and hydrogen, whose purity, storage and outlets must be coordinated. Kingboard’s profile lists caustic, liquid chlorine, hydrochloric acid, PVC and hydrogen use, illustrating this material coupling. Purification limits should match membrane-system tolerances because excess calcium and magnesium raise scaling, pressure and maintenance.

Caustic operating rate responds to power price and downstream demand, while chlorine depends more on nearby conversion because long-distance movement is difficult and costly. Weak demand at one outlet can limit the whole chlor-alkali unit. Capacity assessment must look beyond cell nameplates to chlorine products, hydrogen and steam balance. A chlorine-hydrogen imbalance can force lower load, so downstream offtake and maintenance plans belong in supply assessment.

A caustic or hydrochloric-acid purchase should define concentration, impurities, tank truck or package, unloading interface and return arrangements; liquid chlorine adds pressure-vessel, vehicle and emergency requirements. Supply review also asks about planned maintenance, minimum stable load and alternative storage. Three months of shipment records support supply judgement better than a single design-capacity figure. Before unloading, verify pipe material, couplings and free capacity; site incompatibility can halt delivery faster than assay variance.

  • A chlor-alkali unit depends on brine purity, electricity, chlorine-hydrogen balance and downstream offtake.

04 · Sulphur Chemistry and Functional Materials

Sulphuric systems, sulphites and hydrotalcite follow different reaction routes.

Songmu material for Hengguang records pyrite-based sulphuric acid, sulphites, sulphamic acid and hydrotalcite. Sulphuric-acid operations focus on roasting, conversion, absorption and waste-heat use; sulphites require reduction-state control; hydrotalcite involves precipitation, ageing, filtration and drying. Co-location does not mean that all equipment can be shared. A company direction does not place every material on one line; current certificates should state the actual manufacturing address.

Magnesium-aluminium hydrotalcite can serve different uses according to element ratio, particle size, surface area and treatment, while the project notice only states proposed construction. Treating its planned 20,000-tonne capacity as current supply would be a timing error. Sample comparison also needs to isolate moisture, agglomeration and residual-ion effects in the downstream formulation. Hydrotalcite dispersion and compatibility vary by resin, so evaluation must use the customer’s actual formulation.

A functional-material enquiry should state intended use, formulation system, restricted substances, particle distribution and thermal stability and ask the supplier to identify its current production status. A new project retains separate evidence for environmental review, construction, trial operation and final acceptance; commercial trials begin only when permission is current, the lot conforms and packaging is traceable. An environmental approval does not prove production has begun, and a trial-operation record does not replace completion acceptance, so the operating status remains unconfirmed whenever a required stage document is missing.

  • Sulphates, sulphites and hydrotalcite use different reactions and controls; similar chemical names do not imply a shared process.

05 · Park Circularity, Safety and Environment

Material integration does not weaken separate dangerous-chemical responsibilities.

The provincial report describes coordination among salt making, chlor-alkali, hydrogen use, cogeneration and heat networks, while a government inspection emphasises chain linkage, safety and environmental control. Circular use may reduce transport and energy, but every pipe, tank and receiving unit still has a responsible organisation. Park integration does not create shared liability. Shared pipe racks and utilities reduce duplication but can transmit one plant’s shutdown risk to neighbouring users.

Chlorine, hydrogen, strong acids, strong alkalis and oxidisers create different hazards in leakage, contact and fire scenarios. An interruption in waste-heat or by-product exchange may force an upstream unit to reduce load or use fallback disposal. Circular-economy review must include normal, abnormal and shutdown conditions rather than one steady-state flow. Risk matrices should distinguish substance, process and exposure scenario rather than substituting one hazardous-chemical label.

A site review checks major-hazard identification, interlocks, combustible and toxic-gas detection, emergency basins, fire protection, loading areas and contractor control. Cross-company pipelines add metering, isolation, backflow protection and incident notification. Environmental review relies on discharge permits, online monitoring, hazardous-waste ledgers and recent enforcement records, using promotional material only as a lead. Drill records need alarm-to-isolation time, staffing and waste-liquid destination to prove emergency facilities are usable.

  • Park integration may reduce transport but does not merge each operator's safety, emissions and emergency duties.

06 · Evidence Boundaries for Three Companies

Public evidence depth differs for Kingboard, Hengguang and Jianheng.

The government profile for Kingboard (Hengyang) gives a detailed product and scale account; Hengguang has a specific 2026 project notice; Jianheng’s material mainly closes organisation, address and chain position. Their cards therefore use different capability depth. Less evidence is not weaker capability, and more evidence is not transaction approval. Published scale should remain tied to project and year; group totals cannot be assigned to the Hengyang site or current sale volume.

Kingboard spans basic chemicals and intermediates, Hengguang connects sulphur chemistry and inorganic materials, and Jianheng needs a current catalogue from the company channel. They may have material interfaces in the park, but public reporting provides no transaction-by-transaction evidence. “Upstream and downstream” cannot imply volume, price, payment term or exclusivity. Unknown data items include active grades, packaging and minimum orders and must await written company material, not neighbouring-product inference.

Company outreach separately requests contracting organisation, production permission, dangerous-chemical licence, product specification, test report and available packaging. Kingboard receives added questions on turnaround and chlorine-hydrogen balance; Hengguang on project status and acid-system control; Jianheng first on product identity. Every response is bounded by document date and applicable site. Licence copies need number, scope and validity checks, while abbreviations cannot replace the full licensed organisation.

  • Public information differs for Kingboard, Hengguang and Jianheng, so comparisons stop at the scope evidenced for all three.

07 · Dangerous-goods Trading and Logistics Design

Specification, packaging, carrier and unloading determine executability.

Liquid caustic, hydrochloric acid, hydrogen peroxide and chlorine require different tank materials, cleaning, incompatibility controls and carrier qualifications, while solid materials add moisture and dust concerns. Quotes become comparable only with the same concentration, net weight, package return and destination. Distance also affects dangerous-goods routes, driver limits and unloading appointments. Carriers must provide vehicle, driver and escort qualifications because a supplier’s production licence does not cover transport duty.

Higher concentration does not always produce the lowest delivered cost because dilution-water quality, site tanks and heat release change use cost. Hydrogen-peroxide decomposition, acid-alkali contact and chlorine leakage each require specialised emergency conditions. Procurement evaluation should include unloading modifications, package deposits, empty returns and emergency drills in total cost. Delivered-cost comparison should include waiting, tanker utilisation and cleaning because ex-works price often hides them.

Before a trial shipment, supplier, carrier and receiver jointly review route and unloading interfaces and confirm safety-data-sheet and label revisions. Arrival sampling records tanker, seal, temperature, concentration and impurities, with anomalous lots isolated. The contract states deadlines for shortage, contamination, delay, return and incident reports beyond a title-transfer clause. When a three-party drill finds an interface mismatch, modify it before loading and reconfirm the emergency contact chain.

  • Dangerous-goods transactions need specification, packaging, carrier qualification and unloading interface in one delivery condition.

08 · Phased Entry for Material Projects

Resource advantage becomes a project condition only through permits, samples and logistics validation.

Hengyang’s rock-salt resource, park output and company concentration describe an industrial base but do not answer whether a product is available today. A new-material project may remain in planning, environmental review, construction or trial operation. Entry separates project status from routinely produced goods so future capability does not cover a current gap. An established park lowers search cost but does not complete specification, licence and transport checks for one product.

Basic chemicals can begin with a standard grade and short-distance trial shipment, while functional materials require formulation tests, ageing and customer qualification. A project relying on cross-company by-products also needs a fallback for interface interruption. The paths have very different capital intensity and validation periods and should not share one investment pace. Material qualification should retain formulation versions and controls so later customer-system changes can be assessed against old results.

Scale-up gates include valid permission, consecutive conforming lots, a passed logistics drill, defined exception handling and a stable contact. Company project status and regulatory notices are reviewed quarterly, while park and chain measures update annually. If a source fails or a name changes, related conclusions freeze until an equivalent government or original company record closes them again. A contact or licence change should trigger immediate hold and review rather than waiting for the next annual audit.

  • A materials project should confirm permits and samples before logistics and consecutive lots; resource reserves do not equal available supply.
