Guyuan Potato Processing

Guyuan's potato economy spans seed breeding, fresh sales, starch and staple foods. Municipal figures describe varieties, breeding bases and processors, while older Xiji material covers a narrower place and period. Citywide Guyuan, historical Xiji and individual company locations therefore need separate reading.

Formation and regional foundations

Cool conditions around Liupanshan support seed and processing varieties, while local programmes connect variety rights, original-seed propagation and end uses. Public information from 2024 records 63 introduced varieties, including 33 suited to staple foods or starch, and 12 improved-seed breeding bases. Later funding actions do not by themselves establish completed acreage or processing output.

Guyuan sends potatoes along several routes: seed potatoes enter propagation and external sales, fresh potatoes serve food markets, and starch or staple-food varieties move to processors. Municipal figures provide the broad picture, while Xiji history and company information from Yuanzhou and Pengyang add local detail. Place, period and end use must remain separate to understand actual processing capability.

Core geography: Guyuan seed-potato and processing network, with Xiji history and company nodes in Yuanzhou and Pengyang

County, breeding and processing links in Guyuan potatoes

How the municipal industry connects with county nodes

Nodes distinguish statistical scope, company location and planned use; links show contextual connections rather than orders, ownership or transport routes.

  • Guyuan municipal industry data — Citywide information covers varieties, breeding bases, processors and the wider value chain.
  • Xiji County records for 2020 — Base area, green-product recognition and approved output apply to Xiji County in 2020.
  • Sanding company node in Yuanzhou — Public information confirms the company locality and agricultural-food processing classification.
  • Hongfeng historical node in Pengyang — A 2022 administrative table records the company and refined potato starch.
  • Future seed-potato breeding direction — Seed-potato planning around Liupanshan is a future direction rather than a completed park.
  • Planned processing-potato direction — Different ecological areas are proposed for starch, staple-food or table varieties.

01 · Why citywide data and Xiji history must remain separate

Municipal figures, older Xiji data and company addresses each have their own scope.

Three agricultural accounts from 2024 cover Guyuan as a whole, addressing varieties and breeding bases, processors, and seed, fresh, starch and staple-food activities. Another article published in 2025 looks back at Xiji County in 2020. Together they illuminate the industry, but they describe different geographies and periods.

Xiji belongs to Guyuan, but its county base area and approved output do not become municipal measures. Four proposed ecological uses remain future directions rather than operating parks. Company names in Yuanzhou and Pengyang establish bounded locations or historical administrative context only.

A regional reading should begin with whether a figure covers the city or a county, followed by its year and product use. County comparisons need the same period, measure and broadly comparable scope. Until those conditions are met, the map shows industry nodes without rankings or area shares.

  • Administrative inclusion does not make an older county figure part of today's municipal total.

02 · Reading 63 varieties, 12 bases and three funding actions

The 33 processing varieties sit within 63 introduced varieties, while bases and funding describe other objects.

Public information from 2024 records 63 introduced potato varieties, including 33 for staple foods or starch, and 12 improved-seed breeding bases. A 2026 municipal action raised RMB 2 million for variety rights and original-seed propagation. A separate reply says Guyuan received RMB 9.32 million from a RMB 13 million seed-potato programme in 2025.

The 33 varieties form a subset of 63 and should not be added. The base count cannot yield varieties per base because no allocation is published. Funding establishes the scale of public action, not full expenditure, completed acreage or processing output.

Review of a named variety should cover rights, the licensed propagator, seed grade, county and seasonal acceptance. A breeding base also needs field isolation, disease control and storage checks. Only formal acceptance or fiscal-performance material can turn an annual action into a completed outcome.

  • Varieties, breeding bases and public funding belong to different levels and cannot produce per-unit averages by division.

03 · What 24 firms, 65 percent and 120,000 tonnes actually describe

A company count, an agricultural conversion rate and starch output use different denominators.

A municipal account dated 10 May 2024 lists 24 potato processors and gives a 65 percent citywide agricultural-product conversion rate after discussing several agricultural categories. A 24 May account says the potato chain exceeded RMB 2.5 billion, with annual starch production of 120,000 tonnes, around 10 percent of national potato-starch output.

The 24 firms represent a dated count rather than a current register, an above-scale population or every processing site. The 65 percent denominator covers several agricultural products and cannot become a potato rate. The 120,000 tonnes and 10 percent share appear together, but no method supports reconstruction of an exact national total.

A later comparison needs an updated official company count and the same distinction between actual output and design capacity. Chain value cannot be averaged across selected firms. Buyers assessing supply should examine recent schedules, incoming potatoes and consecutive lots at a specific plant rather than rely on a municipal total.

  • The reported 120,000 tonnes is annual production rather than design capacity, and 65 percent is not a potato-only rate.

04 · Keeping Xiji's 150,000 mu in its 2020 setting

The article was published in 2025, while its base, recognition and approved-output figures refer to 2020.

An article published in 2025 recounts that Xiji County created a 150,000-mu green-food raw-material base in 2020. Fresh potatoes from nine firms, including Shouqiang, received green-product recognition with more than 80,000 tonnes of approved output. The article also places Hongjunfen and fresh potato noodles in local food culture.

All three figures belong to 2020. Base area and company recognition may later change, while approved output differs from production, so they cannot form a trend with the 2024 citywide count of 24 processors. The nine firms concern fresh-potato recognition rather than nine processing plants.

Current claims about Xiji bases, certification or noodle production require valid certificates, county statistics and regulatory information. Without newer evidence, 150,000 mu, nine firms and more than 80,000 tonnes remain historical observations. Food tradition explains product culture but not present plant capability.

  • Publication date does not replace observation year, and approved output is not actual production.

05 · How far funding and four ecological zones remain from completion

Allocated funding, annual action and future zoning sit at different stages.

A 2025 proposal reply states that Guyuan received RMB 9.32 million, or 71.7 percent, from a RMB 13 million seed-potato programme. It proposes four future uses: seed potatoes around Liupanshan, starch varieties in semi-arid hills, late table varieties in humid areas, and early table or staple-food varieties in arid belts and valleys. A RMB 2 million variety action in 2026 belongs to another year.

An allocation is not the same as disbursement and acceptance, and future zoning does not establish completed parks. The 2025 and 2026 funds serve different tasks and should not become one cumulative-investment figure. Planned acreage cannot describe present breeding scale without a completion report.

Later progress can be followed through disbursement, project operator, implementation location and acceptance. The map groups four uses into seed breeding and processing suitability, expressing planning intent without precise boundaries. Wording such as support or plan still requires an operating result before it is treated as complete.

  • A planned use zone becomes operating space only after projects, locations and acceptance are established.

06 · Why a seed-to-starch chain is not a map of company transactions

Industry stages can connect without establishing fixed orders between companies.

Municipal information lists seed breeding, fresh-potato sales, starch processing and staple-food development as four stages. Xiji material adds a county base and noodle tradition, while planning material proposes future use zones. Company information separately places Sanding in Yuanzhou food processing, Hongfeng in a Pengyang starch table, and Xuechuan Liupanshan Food in Guyuan deep processing.

These records describe stages and locations without identifying purchases between firms. Fresh potatoes, starch and staple foods need not sit within one legal entity. Administrative location, industry classification, a historical table and future zoning cannot be assembled into an operating logistics route.

The map connects municipal context separately with Xiji history, company locations and planning directions. A supply relationship needs a contract or traceability record identifying both entities, product, lot, date and performance. Appearance in the same industry account does not establish a stable transaction.

  • Map links show industrial context; real supply relationships still require contracts, lots and delivery records.

07 · What can be established for Xuechuan, Sanding and Hongfeng

The three companies appear in commerce, industry and county records with different levels of detail.

Ningxia commerce information from 2025 names Xuechuan Liupanshan Food Ningxia Co., Ltd. in Guyuan potato processing, while another account from that year uses the short name Xuechuan Food and mentions exports of fries and patties. A 2026 industry review lists Guyuan Sanding Potato Products Co., Ltd. under Yuanzhou food processing. A 2022 Pengyang table links Guyuan Hongfeng Starch Co., Ltd. with refined potato starch, leaving the three companies with different product directions and evidence dates.

A short name does not independently identify a legal entity, and discussion of expansion does not show that construction was completed. An earlier proposed recommendation for Sanding is not final recognition; the 2026 review establishes only that review state. Hongfeng water and output entries belong to a 2022 administrative record rather than current performance.

Before contact, each firm needs current registration, plant address, food licensing, environmental responsibility and recent product checks. Capacity, revenue, customers and ranking require period-specific company disclosure or verifiable transaction material. Sharing a Guyuan potato setting creates neither ownership nor purchasing relations among the three.

  • A company name can establish identity, while historical listing does not prove current capacity, customers or market position.

08 · Keeping every figure in its proper place before procurement

Current information explains the industry outline but does not replace plant, lot and contract checks.

Public information explains varieties, bases, processors and starch production in 2024, preserves a 2020 Xiji snapshot, and records funding or variety actions in 2025 and 2026. It does not yet provide a complete current company register, comparable county series, project acceptance, live available volume or transactions between firms.

Common errors include adding 33 to 63, presenting 12 bases as permanent current conditions, or turning 24 firms into a current above-scale register. The 65 percent rate is not potato-specific, and 120,000 tonnes is not capacity. Older Xiji figures and allocated funding must retain their original periods and states.

Before procurement or investment, confirm the legal entity, address, permits, target product and plant status, then obtain recent lots, tests, quotation and delivery terms. Seed potatoes also require rights and propagation grade; starch or staple foods require ingredient lots, processing lines and food labels. Regional figures remain a discovery aid rather than order evidence.

  • Regional scale guides discovery; an order still depends on evidence for the same plant, product and lot.

Sources and reading notes
