Enshi Advanced Tea Processing

Across Enshi Prefecture, 1.82 million mu of tea gardens support about 830,000 tea farmers, while the 2025 tea-industry value reached RMB 27 billion. These prefecture measures describe cultivation, participation and comprehensive value separately; they neither split the counties nor represent revenue earned by advanced processors.

Formation and regional foundations

Steamed green tea, conventional tea and vine tea follow different processes and create local nodes. The prefecture reports 548 cleaner-production lines alongside electrification, continuous processing and automation. Line counts show breadth of upgrading without giving line capacity, utilisation or tea type.

Enshi tea spans eight counties and cities, with prefecture gardens, processing upgrades and market services forming the wider setting. Enshi City’s 28,800 tonnes of dry tea and Laifeng vine tea are more specific local nodes. Lanbei, Kaidike and Chunzhihuo bring the Enshi Yulu special mark, process and products down to identifiable companies.

How Prefecture Gardens Connect Enshi City Green Tea and Laifeng Vine Tea

The map shows layers of growing, processing, markets and local tea types; actual leaf and dry-tea flows vary with season, company and order.

  • Tea across Enshi’s eight jurisdictions — Gardens of 1.82 million mu, 830,000 farmers and comprehensive value form the prefecture base.
  • Electrified and cleaner production lines — Fully electrified firms, clean lines and continuous automated lines mark different upgrade levels.
  • Steamed green tea in Enshi City — Steam fixation, dry-tea output and export-registered bases define the city product node.
  • Green-tea intelligent control base — The base explores garden monitoring, quality prediction, production guidance and specifications.
  • Origin markets and fulfilment services — Origin markets support purchasing, storage and logistics, alongside training, sampling and oversight.
  • Laifeng County vine tea — Vine tea follows its own raw material, county brand, project support and export route.
  • Enshi Yulu brand and authorisation — Trademarks and the special mark connect named companies, product categories and validity terms.

01 · A Prefectural Base of 1.82 Million Mu

Garden area, industry value and farmer population jointly show the breadth of Enshi tea.

Enshi Prefecture has 1.82 million mu of tea gardens, an industry value of RMB 27 billion in 2025 and about 830,000 tea farmers. Seven of its eight county-level jurisdictions are nationally important tea counties. These prefecture figures show broad participation across mountain villages, processing and trade but do not divide the total among Enshi City, Laifeng or other localities.

Garden area, comprehensive value and farmer population use different units. The RMB 27 billion covers cultivation, processing, distribution, brands and services, so dividing it by area would not yield processing return per mu, nor would division by farmers reveal personal income. The seven important tea counties also differ in products and processing bases rather than forming equal-sized clusters.

Follow prefecture change through separate records for gardens, fresh leaf, dry tea, processing lines, trade and exports, with each item labelled as prefecture, county-level city or county. Enshi City steamed tea and Laifeng vine tea are specific nodes within the network and cannot be added again to prefecture totals. This shows multi-jurisdiction participation without turning local projects into shared prefecture results.

  • Prefectural totals cannot be assigned automatically to a county or firm.

02 · The 548 Cleaner-production Lines

Electrification, cleaner production and continuous automation describe different upgrade layers.

Enshi reports electrification across above-scale tea firms, including 168 fully electrified tea makers, 548 cleaner-production lines and 309 continuous automated lines. The figures refer to an enterprise population and different line categories. They show several layers of processing upgrade without giving rated capacity, utilisation or the tea made on each line.

One firm may operate several lines for fixation, rolling, drying or refining, so company and line counts cannot be added or averaged. Cleaner, continuous and automated categories may overlap, which means 548 minus 309 does not produce a count of non-automated lines. Whether cooperatives and small workshops completed electrification also depends on their separate coverage.

Evaluate a tea line by following leaf intake, spreading, fixation, rolling, drying and sorting, recording energy supply, downtime, temperature and humidity control, yield and lot traceability. Equipment counts show the breadth of upgrading, whereas energy use, flavour consistency and production cadence show its effect. Different counties and tea types also need appropriate comparison conditions.

  • Line count does not yield capacity or imply identical equipment across firms.

03 · Products and Dry-tea Output in Enshi City

Enshi City’s 28,800 tonnes of dry tea is a city node rather than a prefectural breakdown.

Enshi City reports 387,000 mu of tea gardens, annual dry-tea output of 28,800 tonnes, 147,400 mu of export-registered bases, tea export earnings of USD 3.94 million and comprehensive value above RMB 10 billion. It also makes Enshi Yulu using steam fixation. These are city-level measures and cannot replace the prefecture totals of 1.82 million mu and RMB 27 billion.

The 28,800 tonnes are not split among Enshi Yulu, other green teas, bulk tea or export products, and city comprehensive value is not revenue from steamed-green processing. Dividing city dry-tea output by prefecture garden area would combine two administrative levels. Yield or processing structure requires the same geography, year and a clear product definition.

At an Enshi City steamed-tea node, separate fresh-leaf origin, steam-fixation equipment, dry-tea category, export registration and actual export lots. If a product uses the Enshi Yulu name, also check special-mark authorisation and lot labels. Planting registration, process, brand and export earnings form one chain only when they align for the same company and product.

  • Products such as steamed green tea also need process and year.

04 · How Intelligent Control Enters Tea Processing

Temperature, humidity, time and appearance inspection can enter continuous process control.

In 2025, a tea garden in Enshi City became a demonstration base for intelligent green-tea quality control. Its tasks include monitoring garden conditions and inputs, predicting quality change, issuing alerts and developing a technical specification. The unveiling marks an implementation stage but does not show a fully launched platform, participant count or measured quality improvement.

Sensors and models can help growers interpret environmental change without automatically replacing experience in picking, fixation and tasting. A base located in one company garden does not make the results exclusive to that firm or representative of the prefecture. Platform delivery, specification publication, company adoption and lot improvement are four distinct milestones.

On site, check sensor nodes, valid data periods and triggered alerts to see whether the system is being used, then compare how producers adjust harvest or processing and whether lot consistency changes. If a specification has been published, establish its tea scope, adopting firms and implementation records. This tests whether digital tools have entered production rather than treating the demonstration-base name as an outcome.

  • A demonstration base indicates direction; actual effect remains lot-specific.

05 · Market Services and Oversight

Brand promotion, trading services and quality oversight shape the route to market.

Enshi’s tea-service network includes the Wulingshan Tea Trading Center, Enshi Selenium Tea Market, Tangya Tea Market and Xidu Tea City, with roles in storage, purchasing and logistics. Prefecture, county, township and village authorities also work on policy delivery, market conduct and technical training. These activities show public services but not turnover or logistics flows for each market.

Oversight and technical training are governance processes and do not directly prove higher farmer income, faster trade or better product quality. The four markets may not share one system, cover every county or form a fixed route. Service performance needs later information on storage turnover, sampling results, complaint handling, training adoption and actual movement from fresh leaf to dry tea.

At a market, record principal tea types, purchasing season, storage conditions, trading parties and shipping directions, then ask who handles a quality dispute. Keep policy services or rectification cases separate from normal turnover by date and subject. Observation across several harvest seasons is needed before judging whether public services improved the origin-market environment.

  • Public activity does not replace company permission and testing.

06 · Laifeng Vine Tea Is a Distinct Local Node

Vine tea has a raw-material, product and policy context distinct from conventional tea.

Laifeng vine tea is a county-level substitute-tea and brand node. Related policy includes RMB 100 million in central fiscal awards for a national modern agricultural park, a RMB 20 million vine-tea fund, RMB 4.5 million in provincial budget support for a named project, and a 2026–2030 brand direction. The funding sources, purposes and timing are different.

The three amounts cannot be added into commissioned vine-tea capacity. The national park combines vine tea with pig production, so all park support cannot be assigned to tea making. Laifeng vine tea also differs in raw material and product definition from Enshi City steamed green tea and cannot be merged into conventional prefecture tea measures. Policy becomes industrial performance only through construction, acceptance and operating results.

Follow Laifeng through a chronology of policy, budget, construction, equipment, acceptance, brand authorisation and exports. Vine-tea exports first exceeding USD 2 million in 2025 are a separate county historical result and should not be blended with 2026 stores, exhibitions or future tasks. This distinguishes market expansion from work that remains planned.

  • Information from Laifeng should not be extended to every Enshi tea product.

07 · Separating Brands and Company Identities

The three firms have separate legal identities and product activity.

A 2021 Hubei catalogue links the LIZAO mark, Enshi Kaidike Selenium-rich Tea Co., Ltd. and the goods classes of tea and tea beverages. The historical entry establishes a relationship among mark, entity and category at that time. It does not make the mark permanent or reveal later output, sales or authorisation to use the Enshi Yulu special mark.

A May 2026 geographical-indication notice lists Enshi Lanbei Tea, Kaidike Selenium-rich Tea and Chunzhihuo Tea separately as authorised users of the Enshi Yulu special mark through 28 February 2029. The authorisation establishes legal entities, a product mark and a term. It does not disclose capacity, revenue, customers or an industry ranking for the three companies.

For a purchase or discussion, first confirm current special-mark authorisation, then examine food-production permission, product category, lot label and actual production address. Renewal, variation or expiry should be checked around 2029. A trademark catalogue and geographical-indication authorisation establish aspects of identity; tea quality still depends on the product, process and testing.

  • Prefectural brand reputation does not replace one firm’s delivery performance.

08 · How to Read the Prefectural Tea Network

Gardens, production lines, local products and market services form four observation layers.

Enshi tea is a mountain network shared by several county-level jurisdictions. The prefecture level provides gardens, comprehensive value and processing-upgrade context; Enshi City shows steamed tea, dry output and a digital pilot; Laifeng presents vine tea, project funding and a brand route. The layers complement one another, but every map and number must retain its original geography.

Common errors include relabelling RMB 27 billion as advanced-processing revenue, presenting Enshi City’s 28,800 tonnes as prefecture output, or treating 548 clean lines and 309 automated lines as mutually exclusive. A demonstration base, Laifeng funding and special-mark users likewise do not equal full operation, commissioned capacity or a ranking of leading firms.

Plan a visit by choosing the tea type and season, then move through garden, processing line, market and brand company. Enshi Yulu calls for attention to fresh leaf and steam fixation; other green tea needs its own product classification; Laifeng vine tea has separate raw-material and policy boundaries. Continuous county-level records for processing, energy, testing, trade, exports and authorisation reveal real change.

  • A visit should narrow from tea type and leaf season to factory, lot and channel.
