Beihai Display Modules

The 2024 investment profile places Beihai’s electronic-information business population above forty. An earlier account recorded annual capability of 6.5 million display terminals and 3.5 million LCD modules together with seventeen supporting firms; those figures remain tied to 2018.

Formation and regional foundations

The early electronics park and export-processing area formed a terminal-assembly base, later expanded through HKC modules, TPV displays and touch products. Backlights, surface mounting, bonded logistics and quality tests support delivery, while company roles remain product-specific.

Beihai display manufacturing spans LCD modules, touch bonding, display terminals, electronic assembly and bonded logistics. Capacity figures from 2018 describe the earlier base, while a 2024 firm count and the 2026 Haicheng cluster status provide newer observation points; the three cannot be combined into current capacity.

Core geography: HKC modules, TPV terminals and Beihai electronics support

Six interfaces in Beihai display manufacturing

How panel modules, touch, terminals and logistics hand off

Nodes show possible manufacturing or service stages, and lines depict process direction only. Purchase orders, part numbers, lot codes and receiving results together establish whether material actually moves between nodes.

  • HKC panel-and-module node — The HKC node covers panel and LCD-module contexts, with generation, size and plant capability confirmed item by item.
  • TPV display-terminal assembly node — The TPV node connects display-terminal assembly, where the finished model and market determine module and certification needs.
  • Hanboshi touch-module node — The Hanboshi node covers touch modules and bonding, with sensor structure and processing scope checked against each order.
  • Backlight and SMT supporting node — The backlight and surface-mount node supplies lighting, board assembly and related materials without forming one supplier.
  • Comprehensive-bonded logistics node — The comprehensive-bonded and logistics node handles imported parts, inventory and outbound transport, with status varying by goods and declaration method.
  • Module-quality testing interface — The quality interface covers optical, electrical and reliability work, with release criteria set by product and customer.

01 · Panels, modules and display terminals are different products

Every enquiry first identifies the process level of the deliverable.

Beihai’s early electronics park and export-processing area hosted display terminals and electronic components, while Guangxi display research places panels, modules and terminals at separate chain stages. A panel supplies the pixel array, an LCD module adds drive, polarisation and backlighting, and a terminal also contains boards, housing and software. Similar names do not establish the same factory capability.

The 2020 chain plan and the 2024 investment context place Beihai HKC and Beihai TPV in the local landscape. A planned role states direction and an investment description states promotional scope; neither proves that a particular HKC module entered a TPV terminal. Part numbers and received lots establish an actual handoff.

A buyer states whether it needs a panel cell, open cell, LCM, touch assembly or finished display. Size, resolution, interface, luminance, operating temperature and target market then enter one specification. Using “display screen” as the only description leaves price and quality responsibility undefined.

  • Product boundaries determine materials, equipment, tests and responsibility.

02 · Three dated sets of figures answer different questions

Historical capacity, a newer firm count and cluster status cannot be added.

The 2018 snapshot says factories could turn out 6.5 million terminal units and 3.5 million module pieces per year, alongside seventeen upstream and downstream participants. By contrast, a 2024 investment profile places Beihai’s broader electronic-information population above forty. Selection of the Haicheng LCD-module cluster in 2026 establishes cluster status rather than another capacity figure.

The seventeen were supporting firms in the display chain at that time, whereas the forty-plus cover a broader electronic-information population. Firms may enter, leave, rename or change products, and the populations may overlap. Subtraction or a growth rate would create a result without a common basis.

A capability refresh checks operating lines, product sizes, annualised shifts and conforming yield one by one. The cluster name provides a geographic entry point but does not replace a plant visit. Figures become comparable only under the same year, product boundary and capacity definition.

  • Comparison of Beihai display manufacturing retains both year and population.

03 · LCD-module assembly depends on cleanliness and optical consistency

Drive, polarisation, backlighting and flexible circuits meet in a confined package.

An LCD module commonly combines a display cell, driver integrated circuits, flexible circuits, polarisers and a backlight into a connectable component. Each operation is sensitive to particles, electrostatic discharge, alignment and pressure. The early park base gives Beihai an electronics-manufacturing context but does not replace a line process sheet.

Backlight non-uniformity, polariser scratches, bonding opens, light leakage and particles may appear after illumination. Defects can vary with angle, grey level and temperature, so one white-screen inspection is incomplete. Failure analysis retains material lots, machine settings and defect coordinates.

Production control uses agreed test patterns, measurement distance, warm-up time and ambient illumination. Luminance, chromaticity, contrast, pixel defects and current receive separate limits with within-lot distributions tracked. Customer acceptance uses the same conditions to distinguish measurement differences from manufacturing drift.

  • Luminance, colour and defect distributions across lots matter more than one sample.

04 · Full touch bonding is vulnerable to bubbles, particles and stress

Sensors, cover glass, optical adhesive and the display module jointly affect appearance and operation.

The 2024 investment context places Beihai Hanboshi in the local touch-product chain, while display-industry research supplies the technology route. Together they establish process direction without inventing the company’s sensor structure or equipment list. Orders still distinguish add-on, embedded and different cover-glass designs.

Full bonding uses optical adhesive to join cover glass, the touch layer and display module; vacuum, pressure, cure and edge design affect bubbles and overflow. Particles can create bright marks, while stress may cause mura or touch drift. Rework cycles also alter materials and surfaces.

A trial fixes adhesive lot, thickness, vacuum profile and cure conditions before checking appearance, transmission, coordinate accuracy, edge touch and post-drop behaviour. Defects are classified by location and type. Parameter trials change controlled variables rather than hiding a root cause behind several simultaneous changes.

  • Bonding yield covers optical, touch and mechanical results together.

05 · Electronic assembly and bonded logistics both preserve lot identity

Board assembly and cross-border component control meet in warehouses and workstations.

Beihai’s electronics park and export-processing platform historically hosted components, terminals and supporting manufacture, while a newer investment profile names electronics firms. That development supplies a setting for surface mounting, assembly and logistics. It does not mean every company uses one warehouse or bonded arrangement.

Assembly of driver and control boards controls paste, placement, reflow, joints, firmware version and electrostatic protection. Imported integrated circuits or display parts also carry declaration and inventory status. A wrong part may solder successfully yet create both functional and customs-ledger problems.

The warehouse controls issue and return through part number, serial or lot code, bonded status and location, while workstation scans match the production order. Actual consumption and residue are reconciled before finished goods leave the zone. When a suspect lot is quarantined, quality and customs teams complete their respective disposition.

  • Material status continues from declaration and receipt through loading and finished goods.

06 · HKC, TPV and Hanboshi occupy different product positions

Three independent entities provide three enquiry routes, not a default supply chain.

Guangxi HKC Smart Display Co., Ltd. appears in Beihai display-project and module contexts and offers an entry point for checking panel or module capability. A buyer still confirms the entity, plant, size and current line. The historical 3.5-million-piece capability cannot be assigned directly to this company.

TPV Display Technology (Beihai) Co., Ltd. corresponds to display-terminal assembly, with finished products varying by size, interface and sales market. Terminal manufacture does not automatically include panel production. Evaluation reviews assembly, test and certification records for the intended model.

Beihai Hanboshi Technology Co., Ltd. provides a third route into touch modules and bonding. A common Beihai location does not establish mutual supply, shared lines or joint quotations. A project combining firms separately confirms purchasing, incoming acceptance and quality accountability.

  • Company name aligns with plant, model and contracting entity.

07 · Reliability tests reproduce transport, environment and use

Optical conformity is only one part of display-product release.

Display-module reliability commonly combines high and low temperature, temperature-humidity cycling, vibration, drop, electrostatic discharge and extended illumination. The mix depends on terminal use; automotive, industrial and consumer products do not share one boundary. Haicheng cluster status itself is not a product certification.

Measurements before and after test cover luminance, chromaticity, pixel defects, current, touch accuracy and appearance, with sample size and failure criteria stated. A bare “pass” cannot show degradation trends. Failed units return to material lots, assembly settings and structural stress.

Changes to polariser, backlight, driver chip, optical adhesive, firmware or housing enter a change notice. Engineers determine affected tests and arrange supplementary validation, with customer notification as agreed. An unevaluated substitute cannot borrow the original model’s results.

  • Model, material and process changes trigger proportionate revalidation.

08 · A trial order validates handoffs before volume purchasing

Samples, engineering lots and consecutive production lots serve different validation tasks.

Haicheng cluster selection and the 2018 capability history show a display-manufacturing base in Beihai, but neither constitutes supplier approval. A buyer screens plants from the intended product and market rules. Firm count likewise does not replace assessment of one manufacturing location.

An engineering lot uses agreed panels, backlights, touch parts, boards and firmware through receipt, assembly, test, packing and arrival retest. Both parties observe yield, defect distribution, rate and rework. An issue list states owner, action and validation lot.

After consecutive lots meet optical, electrical, reliability and delivery goals, purchasing grows by line and supply risk. Critical materials, process drift and logistics damage remain monitored during ramp. A new size or market receives fresh evaluation rather than inheriting every conclusion from the old model.

  • Volume growth rests on stable data and closed issues.

Sources and reading notes

Historical capacity retains its year and unit, the forty-plus count remains an electronic-information population, and cluster selection establishes only geographic identity. Company positions do not become fixed supply relationships; process judgements attach to models, lines and lots.

  • A 2024 investment account reports more than forty electronic-information firms in Beihai.
  • A 2018 account gives annual display-terminal capability of 6.5 million units.
  • The same historical account gives annual LCD-module capability of 3.5 million pieces.
  • The 2018 account lists seventeen upstream and downstream firms.
