INDUSTRY CLUSTER · Equipment

Baoji Oilfield Equipment Industry

A 2024 Baoji table lists 32 above-scale firms in the petroleum-equipment chain, 28 privately owned, with private firms contributing 10.4 percent of output. Firm share and output share differ, and the Jintai cluster does not inherit the municipal population.

Formation and regional foundations

Drilling rigs, specialised pipe and field equipment formed the manufacturing base, followed by digital, safety and environmental R&D and proposed industrialisation. Jintai list status, municipal statistics, a high-tech-zone project and a leading-chain notice carry different geography and procedure.

Baoji oilfield equipment spans drilling systems, specialised pipe, field components and digital management. Municipal above-scale statistics, Jintai cluster recognition, a proposed high-tech-zone project and an R&D guide answer scale, geography, project concept and technical direction separately rather than filling one another’s operating gaps.

Core geography: Jintai oilfield-equipment cluster, high-tech projects and municipal R&D

Municipal, district and project nodes in Baoji oilfield equipment

How the Jintai cluster, high-tech project and municipal firm population differ

Nodes show statistics, recognition, projects, R&D and company notices. Lines indicate related industry contexts, not park membership, supply or common operation.

  • Baoji municipal evidence frame — The Baoji municipal node combines industry statistics and R&D directions without defining Jintai membership.
  • Jintai District designated cluster — The Jintai drilling-equipment cluster has provincial and national list status with stated designation periods.
  • High-tech Zone proposed project — The high-tech-zone node corresponds to a proposed smart drilling-system R&D and industrialisation project.
  • Citywide statistics-table population — The municipal table contains 32 above-scale firms, 28 of them privately owned.
  • Oilfield-equipment R&D agenda — R&D topics cover ordinary drilling equipment, specialised pipe, digital management, environment and operational safety.
  • Proposed chain-leader notice — The proposed chain-leader notice establishes candidate names and comment period, not final status or performance.

01 · One municipal view contains four factual layers

Statistics, lists, projects and R&D each retain geography and status.

A Baoji municipal table describes citywide above-scale petroleum-equipment firms, while a list confirms a district cluster in Jintai. Their geographies differ. Without a member register, all 32 firms cannot become Jintai cluster members.

A proposed smart drilling-system project in the high-tech zone has an intended location and R&D-industrialisation concept. It answers neither city firm count nor current plant status. The project and table do not automatically share a company population.

An R&D guide lists products and technical questions, while a chain-leader notice supplies candidate identities. Neither direction nor identity replaces delivered equipment. Operating assessment returns to contracts, serial numbers and field use.

  • Determine the factual type before discussing industry or firms.

02 · Thirty-two firms, twenty-eight private and 10.4 percent

Firm-count and output structures use different denominators.

The 2024 municipal register contains 32 petroleum-equipment entities above the designated-size threshold, of which 28 are privately owned. The latter number is an ownership subset of the former population. It describes ownership by firm count, not the operating scale of an individual company.

The same table gives private firms a 10.4 percent output share. This differs from the firm share obtained by dividing 28 by 32. A larger number of firms can still represent a smaller output share.

The table gives no company output, orders, jobs or products. The 10.4 percent cannot be averaged across firms, and firm counts cannot yield chain scale. Later updates need the same above-scale threshold and year.

  • A private-firm majority does not mean a private-output majority.

03 · Jintai recognition establishes geography and term

National and provincial lists confirm the cluster term without live operation data.

A national-list annex names the oil and gas drilling-equipment cluster in Jintai District, Baoji and provides a three-year designation term. It establishes the district name and administrative term. The list gives no members, capacity, products or market.

A 2024 provincial list also confirms the Jintai cluster with its applicable term. The lists can show continuing identity but cannot be added as two clusters. Each term is interpreted separately through the start and end dates in its governing document.

Company membership requires an official register or authority statement. A Jintai address alone does not create membership. Buyers cannot treat cluster recognition as product certification or supplier approval.

  • A designation term is not product life or contract duration.

04 · A proposed R&D project is not yet a plant

An intended location and industrialisation language describe a concept with milestones pending.

The proposed smart complete drilling-equipment R&D and industrialisation project in Baoji high-tech zone establishes only a concept and intended location. R&D and industrialisation in the name do not mean they occurred. Later formal matters determine operator and scale.

Project progress follows contract, land, permissions, construction, equipment arrival, commissioning and customer validation. Each carries its own date. Investment promotion cannot fill missing milestones.

Even after a prototype, a complete system still needs interface, control, safety, transport and field-installation validation. Design capacity is not stable production capacity. Consecutive orders and acceptance establish operation.

  • Contract, construction, equipment, trial and production cannot be skipped.

05 · R&D topics must reach duty and validation

Drilling systems, specialised pipe, digital management and safety-environment topics require different tests.

Drilling-equipment R&D first defines load, pressure, temperature, fluids, environment and duty cycle. Structure, drive, controls and protection are validated against duty. Without boundaries, “smart” cannot become an acceptance condition.

Specialised oilfield pipe involves grade, dimensions, threaded connections, sealing and nondestructive examination. Different wells use different specifications. Prior production of a pipe type does not establish approval for every grade and connection.

Digital management can cover equipment condition, maintenance, operation data and alerts, while environmental and safety topics include leakage, noise, energy and worker protection. Field events validate the system. A display cannot replace alarm and interlock tests.

  • An R&D direction is not mastered or commercialised technology.

06 · BOMCO, Baoji Petroleum Steel Pipe and Safe hold distinct roles

A candidate notice establishes names, not performance, capacity or coordination.

Baoji Oilfield Machinery Co., Ltd. corresponds to a drilling-equipment entity. A system project confirms product, manufacturing plant, serial numbers and service responsibility. Proposed chain-leader status does not establish final recognition or orders.

CNPC Baoji Petroleum Steel Pipe Co., Ltd. is approached for specialised oilfield pipe rather than a complete drilling rig. An enquiry states the contracting entity, producing base, grade, dimensions, connection and well duty. Receipt uses heat certificates, nondestructive-test results and customer-approval status to decide whether the lot can be used.

Baoji Safe Petroleum Machinery Co., Ltd. is a third independent entity. Its contracts and plant establish products and capability. A shared Baoji industry setting creates no equity, supply or joint capacity among the firms.

  • Each entity separately confirms products, plant and contractual responsibility.

07 · Six nodes form a visit sequence, not a supply chain

Municipal statistics, Jintai status, a high-tech project and R&D services coexist without merging.

A visit can move from municipal context to Jintai list status and then named firms and products. The high-tech project remains a separate proposed node. This prevents an unbuilt project from becoming an operating plant.

The statistical table and R&D guide help select questions without assigning technologies to firms. Company capability aligns products, people, equipment and tests. Shared topics cannot become company cooperation lines.

When supply or a joint project appears, records name parties, equipment or pipe, time, quantity and site. Logistics and acceptance add relationship strength. A shared city or chain name alone creates no operating link.

  • A business relationship requires parties, subject, period and handoff.

08 · Accept one system or pipe lot end to end

Specification, manufacture, testing, transport, installation and operation form delivery closure.

An equipment enquiry defines duty, ratings, interfaces, standards, quality plan, spares and site responsibility. The supplier states deviations and lead time. Drilling systems with the same name can have different configurations for different wells.

Manufacture follows critical materials, welding, machining, assembly, pressure or function tests and software version. Pipe follows heat, treatment, threading and nondestructive examination. The named representatives of both parties approve each hold point before work proceeds.

At site, transport damage, foundations, interfaces, interlocks and loaded operation are checked with faults and service response recorded. Final acceptance follows stable trial operation. Later orders still account for duty and version changes.

  • Discuss volume and long-term service after a representative project passes.

Sources and reading notes

The 32 firms, 28 private firms and 10.4 percent belong only to one municipal table; Jintai recognition does not inherit that population. The proposed project, R&D topics and proposed chain leaders retain their procedural status.

  • The 2024 table contains 32 above-scale petroleum-equipment firms.
  • Twenty-eight of the listed firms are privately owned.
  • Private firms account for 10.4 percent of output in the table.
  • The cluster designation in the national list lasts three years.
