Aba Plateau Specialty Agriculture Network
Aba’s 2023 prefecture ledger contains four measures: vegetables above 0.76 million tonnes, specialty fruit above 0.34 million tonnes, roughly 1.42 million marketed livestock and 0.26 million tonnes of meat plus milk. They describe agriculture rather than factory feedstock or processing capacity.
Formation and regional foundations
Plateau climate and county husbandry formed the yak, fruit and vegetable base. Xiaojin meat processing, Hongyuan dairy, food parks and cold chains later took distinct conversion roles. Prefecture coordination links county resources, while actual dispatch and receipt establish cross-county trade.
Aba’s fruit, vegetables, yak meat and dairy cross several counties, with altitude, season and roads determining when material reaches processing. Prefecture output describes the agricultural base; Xiaojin and Hongyuan show particular husbandry, processing and cold-chain stages. Actual lots and logistics connect the two levels.

Production and market nodes in Aba plateau foods
How the prefecture entry connects Xiaojin, Hongyuan and produce bases
Nodes show prefecture and county roles; lines do not establish fixed supply or corporate control. Travel time, temperature, handoff and receipt establish actual county flows.
- Aba prefecture coordination and market-service entry — The prefecture entry coordinates multi-county farming, food parks and market services rather than one municipal cluster.
- Xiaojin yak husbandry-processing node — The Xiaojin node links yak husbandry, slaughter and meat products, with capability determined locally.
- Hongyuan yak breeding-dairy node — The Hongyuan node covers yak breeding, milk supply, dairy lines and cold chain, each confirmed separately.
- Specialty fruit and vegetable base network — Specialty produce bases span several counties; 760,000 and 340,000 tonnes are prefecture 2023 outputs.
- Agri-food processing parks and shared-service node — Food parks and shared services provide processing, testing and storage routes without equal operation at every site.
- Brand and platform market interface — Brands and platforms connect consumers without establishing origin, sales or company relationships.
01 · Prefecture agriculture is not one plant’s throughput
Four 2023 results span the prefecture and measure produce, livestock and meat-milk separately.
Aba produced more than 760,000 tonnes of off-season vegetables and over 340,000 tonnes of specialty fruit in 2023. Both are prefecture harvest results across counties and varieties. Factory intake is lower after fresh sales, own use, loss and rejected grades.
About 1.42 million head of livestock were marketed that year, with meat and milk totalling 260,000 tonnes. Marketed animals use a head count, while meat and milk use weight and cover several species. Dividing them cannot yield average yak meat or milk.
Annual comparison requires the same geography, category and period with actual or planned status. A later county or product figure starts another series. When a matching result is absent, a blank is more accurate than a stitched growth rate.
- Geography, product and unit determine what each figure can answer.
02 · Altitude and season determine material condition first
Produce maturity, yak marketing and milk supply each have narrow windows.
Plateau day-night temperature differences can support produce quality while concentrating frost and maturity risk. Harvest plans follow variety, field, altitude and weather. A prefecture total cannot show conforming material available to a plant in a given week.
Yak meat involves husbandry, quarantine, transport, slaughter and chilling, while milk faces daily milking hygiene and temperature limits. The two chains use different vehicles and receiving standards. A combined meat-milk total hides those differences.
Winter roads, tourism traffic and remote pastures alter the collection radius. Plants record departure, receipt temperature, waiting and rejection reasons. A stable material plan comes from several weeks of arrivals rather than straight-line distance.
- Processing schedules follow harvest, milking and road conditions.
03 · Xiaojin meat and Hongyuan dairy follow different processes
County cases show particular stages without shared lines or output.
The Xiaojin yak case links husbandry, slaughter, cutting and meat processing. Animals, carcasses and finished goods use different lot identifiers. Capacity depends on slaughter permission, shifts, chilling space and conforming output.
The Hongyuan case includes breeding, milk supply, dairy lines and cold chain. Raw-milk intake checks temperature, acidity, antibiotic residues and microbiology before standardisation and pasteurisation. Breeding results cannot directly become saleable dairy volume.
Produce processing adds washing, sorting, precooling, cutting, drying or freezing. Fresh-market and processing grades may differ, but use must be agreed beforehand. Rotten or frost-damaged material harms both yield and food safety.
- Meat and dairy manage hygiene, temperature and shelf life separately.
04 · County coordination depends on handoffs, not a prefecture name
The Maerkang entry, Xiaojin, Hongyuan and produce bases hold distinct spatial roles.
Aba prefecture coordination can organise policy, exhibitions and shared services without being the production site for every product. County plants and bases retain their own addresses and entities. A prefecture name creates no upstream-downstream relationship.
Meat moving from Xiaojin requires chilling and package integrity, while Hongyuan raw milk has a shorter time limit. Products use different temperature zones, vehicles and sanitation plans. Logistics design begins with the most sensitive item.
Produce supply to a food park connects field, harvest time, graded weight and carrier. Shared services among parks also record customer and sample. A mapped line gains business meaning only after a complete handoff exists.
- A real route requires dispatch, transport, temperature and receipt evidence.
05 · A plateau brand still proves quality lot by lot
An origin story cannot replace microbiology, composition, labels and shelf life.
Yak meat controls quarantine, slaughter hygiene, chilling rate and package seal; dairy focuses on raw milk, heat treatment and cold chain. Both need lot traceability. A brand name does not reduce the risk of one temperature excursion.
Plateau produce may reach markets through green, specialty or off-season claims. Those claims must match production practice, testing and origin scope. Attractive appearance does not replace residue, microbiology or package hygiene controls.
Shelf-life validation uses the actual formulation, process, package and transport temperature under worst conditions. Material or package changes trigger reassessment. Cold-room samples alone do not represent long transport and retail display.
- Quality requirements continue through material, process, packaging and transport.
06 · Cold chains connect origin windows with consumption time
Transport, storage and channels share responsibility for loss and temperature.
Aba origins are distant from markets such as Chengdu, and loading time and mountain roads shorten saleable life. Precooling, load density and vehicle temperature vary by product. Fresh fruit, frozen meat and dairy cannot share one temperature conclusion.
Channels may include wholesale, supermarkets, e-commerce and tourism, each with different packs and returns. Tourism-season sales do not represent annual demand. Scheduling considers orders, stock, loss and promotion together.
Logistics review records dispatch and receipt weight, rejection, damage, temperature and remaining shelf life. Delay causes are separated among weather, vehicle, handling and documents. Collection radius expands after routes perform consistently.
- Received and saleable rates describe market outcome better than dispatch weight.
07 · Three firms hold separate meat, food and dairy roles
Company names identify entities but cannot inherit prefecture output or market share.
Xueyuan Yak Meat Food Co., Ltd. corresponds to yak-meat products. Engagement confirms the full legal name, slaughter or production permissions, plant and cold storage. Prefecture livestock counts cannot become its raw-material volume.
Aba Highland Green Valley Food Co., Ltd. is treated as an independent food firm. Product type, process and licence scope determine orders it can accept. Sharing Aba with Xueyuan does not establish common production or supply.
Hongyuan Yak Dairy Co., Ltd. connects to the Hongyuan dairy setting, with raw-milk collection and lines belonging to its operation. Brand, park or county accounts cannot replace current testing and capacity. Contracts and logistics alone establish relationships among the firms.
- Each entity separately confirms address, permission, products and recent lots.
08 · Follow one lot from origin through the plant
A real lot connects agricultural context, processing capability and market feedback.
A produce project begins with one field and harvest date, recording variety, inputs, grade, precooling and transport. Plant receipt reconciles with field dispatch. Low yield is separated among maturity, loss and process causes.
A yak-meat or dairy pilot selects materials with complete quarantine and temperature trails and follows process parameters, tests and release. Abnormal lots are isolated. A passing result does not cover other pastures, seasons or lines.
At receipt, customers inspect fresh produce for water loss, bruising and residual heat, while dairy and meat are checked for core temperature and package integrity. Plant lots and transport handoffs locate an excursion in precooling, loading or transit control. The next season retains dependable routes and gives fragile products a tighter transit limit.
- Validate a representative small lot before setting scope and volume.
Sources and reading notes
Prefecture annual figures are not assigned to counties or firms, and county cases do not become prefecture capability. Fresh sales, own use, loss and grading remain separate from processable volume, while company roles attach only to named entities.
- Off-season vegetable output exceeded 760,000 tonnes in 2023.
- Specialty fruit output exceeded 340,000 tonnes in the same year.
- Approximately 1.42 million head of livestock were marketed.
- Combined meat and milk output reached 260,000 tonnes.
