Siping

Conduct at Siping War-History Sites

Siping’s campaign history is interpreted at the memorial, cemetery and separate battlefield sites, each with different evidence and scope.

• Recognise the setting in which culture actually occurs — Distinguish objects and records from replicas and later artistic reconstructions, and read dates and identifications carefully.
• Participate only where the setting clearly allows it — Join guided or commemorative activities as offered, and treat accounts of loss as testimony rather than entertainment.
• Separate residents’ lives, ritual and performance — Do not handle exhibits or climb monuments; keep voices down in solemn galleries and ask before photographing people, especially children.
