Qufu
Qufu’s public culture is strongly shaped by its identity as Confucius’s home, the Confucius Temple and Mansion, and Confucian traditions. The Confucius ceremony is a ritual-music event with a defined date, sequence and set of roles. Museum study programmes and “ancient ritual” experiences are public educational products. Neither means that every ordinary interaction in Qufu follows the same ceremonial code.
