CITY GATEWAY

Jiangmen

Jiangmen supports checks on ordinary civilian motorcycles from model definition, components and assembly through regulatory testing, lot conformity, spare parts and after-sales delivery.

Jiangmen and Kaiping: overseas-Chinese memory in lived-in diaolou villages

Kaiping diaolou and villages record migration, remittance-funded building and architectural exchange in Jiangmen’s overseas-Chinese homeland. Diaolou, ancestral halls, lanes and fields form one cultural landscape; some are open to visitors, while others remain tied to residents, family memory and private ownership.

  • Recognise the setting in which culture actually occurs — Beyond façades, notice how buildings served defence, residence, storage and communication, and how ponds, fields, halls and homes are arranged. Do not describe every diaolou as an abandoned castle.
  • Participate only where the setting clearly allows it — Use interpretation, exhibitions and signage at officially open sites such as Zili Village to learn overseas-Chinese history. Enter buildings only on ticketed or explicitly open routes. Community festivals, ancestor rite…
  • Separate residents’ lives, ritual and performance — An open door does not make a closed diaolou, side room of an ancestral hall or home public. Ask before photographing residents, ancestral tablets, interiors or active rites, and do not climb on or touch historic fabric.

Jiangmen business fieldwork: start with a specific project

This Jiangmen node is strictly limited to ordinary civilian motorcycles, civilian components and after-sales. Select one real model and market and verify engine or electric drive, frame, brakes, tyres, lamps, instruments, wiring, emissions or electrical safety, assembly, final inspection and model conformity. Brand, trader, vehicle plant and parts suppliers may be different, and a display unit may not be the production revision, so model code, configuration, critical-parts list and production lot must align.

  • WHY THIS CITY · How Jiangmen's business base was formed — Pengjiang, Jianghai and Xinhui form a regional link across vehicles, engines and parts, metal and plastic pieces, wiring and electronics, and trade services, with wider Pearl River Delta testing, tooling and transport. The manufacturing base supports comparison, but capacity and experience never replace current permissions, tests, lot records and after-sales arrangements for the target model.
  • LINKED CLUSTER · Jiangmen civilian motorcycles — Jiangmen’s motorcycle cluster serves commuting, daily services and leisure mobility with scooters, street bikes, small and middle-displacement models, engines, frames, electrical systems and service parts. The local chain links final assembly, powertrains, general components, quality testing and after-sales channels. Vehicle makers including Dachangjiang, Daye and Loncin attracted engine, frame, plastics, electrical, tyre, logistics and dealer services. A 2024 Jiangmen industry-chain meeting explicitly asked major vehicle makers to lead healthy cluster development.
  • WHO SHOULD VISIT · Three project types merit fieldwork — Suitable for ordinary civilian commuting, urban-delivery or leisure-mobility projects with defined category, use, market, approval needs and volume, plus model-specific parts and service buying. Appearance, displacement or power and target price alone cannot establish lawful sale, quality or long-term support.
  • HOW TO ENTER · Sourcing, location and joint validation require different routes — Enter through one model, market and production configuration. Review regulatory and technical gaps, validate critical parts, assembly and road use with prototypes and a pilot lot, then confirm spares, training, warranty and failures. Parts orders must bind to model and revision rather than generic names.
  • PEOPLE AND OPERATIONS · Measure talent by role, location and retention — Verify ordinary civilian model engineering, powertrain, frame, braking, electrical, test, regulatory, supplier quality, assembly, final inspection, spares and after-sales. Confirm critical staff belong to the actual project and can explain revisions, failure analysis and recall. Sales presentation cannot replace joint answers from engineering, quality and service.
  • LOGISTICS AND MARKET · Validate service radius with real orders and delivery routes — Vehicle transport requires fluid or battery state, tie-downs, protection, handling, frame-number handover, arrival inspection and damage handling; parts need model, revision, lot and left-right segregation. Batteries and other regulated transport items need product- and destination-specific packing, documents and carrier conditions. Spares also need stock policy, replenishment time, failed-part return and post-discontinuation availability.
  • RISK BOUNDARY · Do not enter payment or asset-heavy decisions under these conditions — Stop points include model or manufacturer mismatch, unapproved critical-part substitution, prototype and delivered configuration differences, tests not tied to the model, broken frame-number and lot traceability, or major failures without analysis and action. Any one keeps the project at prototype or pilot.
  • GO OR STOP · Write down whether the project should continue before leaving — Do not end fieldwork with “keep in touch.” Classify the project as proceed, decide after missing evidence, or stop, and record an owner and the next written milestone. Without sample results, a defined quotation, a compliance path or real customer validation, do not enter long leases, equipment purchases or large prepayments.

Two-day business fieldwork sequence

This is not a sightseeing checklist. Day one confirms capability and project interfaces; day two confirms customers, validation, property, cost and responsibility. Unbooked plants, laboratories, warehouses and production sites are not casual attractions.

  • BEFORE ARRIVAL · Fix a specific project and responsible counterparts — Prepare ordinary civilian model use, market, powertrain, main parameters, load, configuration, colours, volume, destination and service scope; parts buyers need model code, interface, drawing, material, critical dimensions and tests. Book the actual vehicle plant, parts, quality and service staff and do not bring unrelated sensitive material.
  • DAY 1 · Trace model definition to prototype and assembly lot — Day one proves configuration, critical parts, tests and actual production align for the target ordinary civilian model.
  • DAY 2 · Then verify road use, spares and service outcomes — Day two proves delivered vehicles are maintainable, failures traceable and warranty executable.
  • TAKEAWAYS · Every meeting should produce dated written evidence — Bring back the target legal entity and address, product or service specification, sample or pilot conditions, standard and permit revisions, quotation validity, delivery owner, payment terms, IP boundaries and stop conditions. A verbal promise alone is not project progress.
  • VISIT BOUNDARY · Public industry information does not mean site access — Arrange visits through official company, zone or authority channels. Without written permission, do not enter non-public areas, photograph lines, laboratories, storage, access controls or internal documents, or send identity and authorisation files through insecure channels.

What to calculate when assessing a city

Ask every candidate city to answer for the same product, capacity or team size and the same delivery date. City output, company counts and headline-company lists build a shortlist; they do not replace project quotations.

  • FULL COST · Do not ask only about rent or incentives — Includes engineering adaptation, prototypes, testing and approval, tooling, engine or electric drive, frame and critical parts, assembly and inspection, packing and transport, duties and destination costs, dealer preparation, spares, tools, training, warranty, repair and recall. Compare the same model revision, configuration, market, delivery and service period, not factory price alone.
  • PERMITS · Separate company setup from sector permits — For ordinary civilian motorcycles only, verify product category, model and manufacturer, road entry, mandatory tests, emissions or electrical safety, frame numbers, labels and manuals, conformity, consumer rights, maintenance, spares, defect reporting and recall. Export projects require destination-specific vehicle rules, documents, language, importer and service responsibility; public information does not replace formal approval.
  • COUNTERPARTY · Identify demand, technical approval, procurement and payment owners — The demand owner, technical approver, contracting buyer and payer may differ. Obtain written confirmation of decision order, trial volume, acceptance, payment terms, service and dispute handling.
  • SOURCE DATE · Confirm the year, entity and geography behind public figures — Record city, district, zone, cluster and company figures separately. Refresh capacity, available property, staffing, pricing, permits and access before signing. Do not add incompatible statistical scopes.
  • EXIT · Calculate stop and exit cost before contracting — Verify deposits, leases, retrofit residual value, dedicated equipment and inventory, staffing, data or tooling ownership, warranty claims, early termination and relocation cost. Do not make an asset-heavy commitment without written exit terms.

Understand the industrial geography before choosing a site

Pengjiang supports ordinary civilian vehicles, brands and service; Jianghai links components and testing; Xinhui adds manufacturing and delivery support. Follow only one ordinary civilian model and its service over two days, routing by bookings, supply relationships and permitted access.

  • INDUSTRIAL AREA · Pengjiang ordinary civilian vehicle and brand-service node — Useful for model planning, prototypes, assembly, brand, procurement and after-sales. Plant visits are booked around a named civilian model.
  • INDUSTRIAL AREA · Jianghai parts and testing-support node — Useful for engine or electric-drive parts, brakes, tyres, lamps, instruments, wiring, metal and plastics and test interfaces, with focus on supplier changes.
  • INDUSTRIAL AREA · Xinhui manufacturing and delivery-service node — Useful for parts processing, packing, spares, vehicle handover and after-sales supply. Routing follows actual company bookings.
  • READ THE SCALE · A city, a zone and a company are not one address — Map R&D, production, market, validation and logistics nodes before calculating travel by actual address. A functional diagram explains roles; it is not navigation, distance measurement or evidence of site access.
