Chuxiong: Salt Routes, Mountain Towns and Multiethnic Daily Life

Chuxiong’s cultural landscape includes Yi and other ethnic traditions, southern transport corridors and mountain towns formed by minerals and markets. Heijing grew through salt, but it is not a frozen Ming–Qing set: resident life, rail and road access, and tourism still share the town.
